At the ChinaJoy video game conference held in Shanghai today, less than a week before Kevin Rian returns to Evo 2024, SNK announced the next character to join the roster of “Hungry Wolf: Castle of Wolves”. Terry Bogard’s rival Billy Kane will once again face off against his old rival in this new game.

The trailer shows Billy using his bo staff during combat to give him extra attack range. Some of his most famous moves can be seen in the trailer, including his helicopter spin attack, and he can still imbue his staff with fire for extra damage and flashy combos.

In City of Wolves , after Giese’s defeat and death, Billy finds himself leading the Howard Alliance – previously led by series antagonist Giese Howard. He is said to have “a deep resentment” towards Terry for causing Guise’s death, so he wanted revenge on his rival.

Billy is the eighth character to join the Wolf City roster, joining Kevin Lean, Marco Rodriguez and B. Janet. He has appeared in several Hungry Wolf and King of Fighters titles in the past, most recently appearing as a downloadable boxer in The King of Fighters XV.

In other SNK news, the company recently re-released SNK Vs. Capcom: SVC Chaos, which is coming to PC and consoles after the resurrection was announced at Evo 2024 last weekend. In other fighting game news, Heihachi Mishima will return in Tekken 8 despite being thrown into a volcano at the end of the last game, while Guilty Gear will feature its first guest character – Lucy from Cyberpunk: Edge Runner – as part of Season 4 content.

Hungry Wolf: Castle of Wolves will launch on Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5 and PC in early 2025.
