AI Conference HumanX will move to the Moscon Center in San Francisco from April 7-9, 2026 after the inaugural campaign in Fontainebleau, Las Vegas.
Travel in San Francisco confirmed the Skift conference, a one-year contract with HumanX only in the 2026 edition. It did not confirm whether Humanx received economic incentives for moving to California cities, but confirmed that it had multiple incentives for the group to book business in San Francisco.
Organizers received $6.125 million in seed funding to build the event. Humanx co-founder Jonathan Weiner is also the founder.
CEO of healthcare conference brand HLTH, which has attracted more than 10,000 healthcare professionals to its flagship event. Weiner previously sold two big conferences to Hyve Group in 2019 and sold the 20/20 Money20/20 to Accential in 2021, which was later acquired by Informa.
The move makes Humanx the center of the AI industry, a clear benefit of seeking to attract big AI companies, as well as startups flocking to Silicon Valley. “By bringing the event to San Francisco, we immerse attendees in a very ecosystem that defines the next-generation AI breakthrough,” said Stefan Weitz, co-founder of Humanx, who has worked with Microsoft.
Organizers also mentioned that the additional space provided by the Southern Mostin Center is also the reason for the move compared to Fontainebleau in Las Vegas.
The organizers said that despite overlapping dates with SXSW in Austin, HumanX attracted 3,300 attendees in its Vegas debut, close to 3,500 targets. Date conflict means that AI companies and investors must choose between these two events. With the meeting moving to April 2026, this will no longer be a problem.
San Francisco follows up the track
This is good news for San Francisco, as the city’s conference business is being rebuilt. “This is another strong signal that the conference calendar in San Francisco is rebounding,” said Anna Marie Presutti, president and CEO of the San Francisco Travel Association.
Officials said the Mostin Center is expected to generate $600 million in direct spending in 2025. But when 49 events account for 968,000 room nights and tourism revenues in 2019 were nearly $2 billion, that was still well below the pre-popular figure.
Recent security improvements have helped attract people to major gatherings in the city, which is often a major issue cited by organizers. Mayor Daniel Lurie recently announced that the 2025 Lunar New Year Parade Weekend was the safest weekend since 2017, with citywide crimes down 31% compared to last year.
Humanx joins a growing list of conferences that include Dreamforce, the city’s largest event, which will remain in the city until at least 2027. JPMorgan Healthcare Conference will return to 2026 in 2026 after a successful 2025 release, with Microsoft Ignite relocating from Chicago Ignite in 2024, with its San Francisco Depebip later this year.
HubSpot’s entry conference will be held in San Francisco in 2025, but returns to its long-term residence in Boston in 2026, while Databricks is committed to a portion of its investment in New York City until 2030, Databricks is committed to maintaining its annual data + AI Summit in San Francisco.
