this won’t be a final fantasy There are no chocobos in the game, so it’s no surprise that the giant rideable bird appears in online entries in the series, final fantasy 14. These creatures first appeared in MMOs very early on, but could only transport you to specific locations on a preset route for a fee. Luckily, you can get your own Chocobo, and this guide will tell you how!
Make enough progress in the main quest to join a great company
As you progress through the main storyline final fantasy 14, You will encounter a mission called “The Company You Keep”. During this mission you will have to join one of three great companies. Your choices are Limsa Lominsa’s Vortex, Gridania’s Twin Vipers, and Ul’dach’s Immortal Flame. Your choices won’t have any impact, as they all lead to the quest to unlock the Chocobo, but they do affect the next Main Scenario Mission (MSQ), with Maelstrom members receiving “Till Sea Swallows All” and Twin Adder members receiving Receiving “Woods Will Be Complete”, members of the Immortal Flame received “For Coin and Country”.
After completing these missions, you can speak with a representative from each faction to receive a new feature mission called “My Little Chocobo.” Upon completion of the mission, you will be rewarded with a Chocobo.
How to finish my little chocobo
Depending on which company you join, there are some slight differences in how you complete My Little Chocobo. Each version requires you to obtain a Chocobo Release, which can be purchased from your company’s store using “Stamps.” Stamps are a currency issued by your large corporation for completing different in-game missions and can be used to purchase exclusive items, such as key items for that mission.
It’s worth mentioning that the seals used are proprietary to the company, so you can’t use Twin Serpents’ currency to purchase Eternal Fire items. Each company’s store should be located next to the My Little Chocobo quest giver. Once obtained, you must deliver it to the Chocolate Castle in the area to receive your mount. Here are the types of seals each company uses, the type of Chocobo release you need, and who to give it to.
- Maelstrom members need 200 Storm Seals to purchase the Storm Chocobo issue and give it to Freijim in Limsa Lominsa.
- Twin Viper members need 200 Snake Seals to purchase the Snakechocobo issue and give it to Thingur in Gridania.
- Immortal Flame members require 200 Fire Seals to purchase the Firechocobo issue and gift it to Mimigun in Urdah.
Once you’ve done this, you’ll need to name their Chocobo, then talk to their respective Chocobo Keeper (Fraegeim, Cingur, or Mimigun) to submit their quest, at which point you’ll unlock the mount and receive the Chocobo whistle.
How to get a seal?
This may have explained how to complete the quest, but now you may be wondering, “How do I get a stamp for the Chocobo Release Form?”. Remember the mission you completed previously to unlock “My Little Chocobo”? It gives you a reward of 300 seals for your respective company, so you should have enough money to claim this issue and turn it in in exchange for a Chocobo! If you’ve already spent it, the easiest way to get more rewards is to participate in small combat events scattered around the world called FATE.
How do I summon my Chocobo?
You may have noticed that the reward for My Little Chocobo is not the bird itself, but the Chocobo Whistle. This is the item needed to actually register the mount to your character. To do this, navigate to your inventory and find the Chocobo Whistle. Select the “Use” option. Now you’ll have a rideable Chocobo! Note that any mount you receive will be given to you this way, so if you’re confused why a specific mount you should have isn’t showing up in your mount options, check your inventory and make sure you use corresponding items.
You can summon a new mount by going to the Character tab of the menu and then navigating to Mount Options. This will show all available mounts, which may just be Chocobos at this point. Select the Chocobo icon and choose Summon to bring it to the field. This action can also be set to your hotbar for immediate summons, and can be repeated for future mounts as well.
Lots of running around final fantasy 14so you’re sure to get a lot of mileage out of your new ride. Remember to save the seals you get from MSQ until you can trade them in for Chocobo releases, otherwise you may need to grind some to get the Giant Bird. Don’t panic if you don’t see a chocobo after completing the mission. You might just have to whistle and then you’re off to the races!
