In any other game, tree shadowJagged Peak is endgame shit. It’s the Dragon’s Challenge, with escalating difficulty and almost hellish environments without setting yourself on fire – although the dragons themselves will happily take care of that for you. Top of the list, though, is Bale, the legless old Egon who’s been screaming bloody murder from the moment you meet him.
If I may go on a necessary tangent here: this man climbed all the way from Ensis Castle to a quarter of the way to Sawtooth Peak, and before you got there, cut off his own dying fingers so that someone could take his soul Bring it up the mountain, revive in time, curse and kill your enemies with the harpoon. He may have lost his legs, but you better believe Egon is going to hang in there until it’s done. All of this will make you better when you finally reach the summit of Jagged Peak and must face his nemesis. At least until Bell goes straight to Kentucky and blows your ass from the lower stratosphere. But don’t worry, we’ve got you covered on how to tame a dragon.
Bell’s abilities
Bell will start in the center of the arena, and unlike his lazy cousin, Bell won’t wait for you to enter his field of vision with a torrent – he’ll start the match by leaping at you with his claws to close the distance. If you stay on his face long enough, he’ll either try to take three bites out of you and swipe twice with his claws, or he’ll take a big bite and toss you around like a chew toy. .
Later in the fight, if you’re too far away, he’ll actually use his wings, hover for a second, and charge himself with lightning before landing on you like the world’s largest sandbag. If things get too tricky too fast, he’ll turn around and dash wildly across the field, sweeping his tail as he turns.
But, of course, there’s fire breath to contend with – except, since Bell is particularly peculiar, it’s fire and Lightning together. If you’re far away from him, he’ll sweep the ball across the arena from right to left, or, if you’re close, he’ll suck the ball right under him, where it will pool and spread out. He can also charge up some lightning with one of his claws and then swipe it to cause an area explosion, and just in case you weren’t worried enough, he might catch you if you’re not directly in front of him. .
But as it turns out, this isn’t even Bell’s final form. When reaching 50%, Bell will enter full God mode, grow a pair of sky wings, and fly into the stratosphere with lightning and fire falling from the sky. After Bell shows off for a lap in the arena, he lands right on your head. Afterwards, he’ll gain two deadly new abilities. First, he will breathe fire at you from mid-air in a more focused straight line. Second, Bell will now perform a claw attack in the air, charging it with more lightning so that the initial slam does damage, but not as much damage as a massive, ground-destroying area explosion that does roughly Three seconds later.
Defeat Bell the Dread – Phase 1
If you’ve made it this far – say, you had to slay three dragons to get here, as well as any of the ones you killed in the base game – you’ve mastered most of the skills you’ll need to defeat Bell, especially if It involves dodging his claw lashes, staying to one side to deal damage, and keeping running away when he breathes fire at you. The camera is an issue, as it is with all dragons, so you still have to try and tilt it so you know what Bell’s head is doing at all times. Now there are some additional issues to keep in mind, as well as some new strategies to mitigate the destructiveness of all of Bell’s attacks.
As mentioned before, Bell’s magic attacks hit both fire and lightning. Ideally, you should have some combination of protection from these two elements. If you have pickled liver for them, screw yourself. Our recommendation is to use the single charm slot of the Fire Dragon or Lightning Dragon Amulet for one element, and the Grease or Armor option for the other element.
As for weapons, like all dragons, Bell is particularly sensitive to piercing weapons. He doesn’t have any one specific status effect weakness, but he’s still susceptible to all of them, so run with your favorites and plan your weapon/enhancement/spell/spell loadout accordingly to build up as quickly as possible it.
you able Once you enter Bair’s arena, you can summon Soul Ash, but firstly, Bair will pounce on you as soon as he sees you, which means you need to get out of the way first, and secondly, no, there is only one person worthy of your company. One side of this battle is Egon. Of course, there are practical reasons. In fact, he does often draw aggro from Bell, he will fire at Bell from a distance when Bell is focused on you, he will use some dragon-specific Ashes of War abilities in battle, and most importantly, summoning him does not Will it increase Bell’s HP? But even if he’s useless, it’s worth summoning him just to hear this absolute bastard’s voice Devoted wholeheartedly to blood and thunder Through this whole battle. The only real problem is that he’s one of those rare summoners whose mark is actually located within the boss area, and as mentioned above, Bell will usually drop to you within seconds of stepping into it. The summoning sign will be slightly to the left as you walk in. Once you’ve summoned him, it’s time to get to work, with the greatest hypeman in gaming history backing you up.
So, despite Bell’s reputation, he actually had one major flaw that his colleagues didn’t have: At some point, someone managed to grab Bell’s left leg, forcing him to use his tail to stay upright. This creates two advantages. First, Stump Leg is actually a legitimate weakness, so melee players can hang out in the back and get him into the second phase by focusing on it. You still need to pay close attention to the front end, though. As he breathes on the ground, the fire will spread to you behind, and Bell will try to make some space by dashing away, which will end with his tail attack.
Second, Bell’s head is actually lower than the other dragons, which means consistently dealing some decent damage to it isn’t that troublesome. That head still breathes lightning-fast fire and tries to chew on your delicious innards, but there’s plenty of opportunity for you to whack his dome with a rolled-up newspaper because he’s a bad dragon. Melee users can actually defend against smaller, faster bites, and despite his size, Bell’s posture can be easily broken after a few bites. Magic users can do their best to stay on Bell’s right flank and hurl spells at him, but don’t go too far unless you want a hundred tons of pure beef dragon to come crashing down on you in an instant.
Defeat Bell the Dread – Phase 2
Once you get his power down to 50% and Bell stops moving but starts glowing, you need to immediately create some distance. The second phase starts with a loud bang that can easily knock you out of half your health if you get too close. Once you’ve marveled at Bell’s majesty and he takes off from the ground, keep running, just circling the arena, which should avoid the flame cannons that fire at you as Bell flies around. Rolling will get you shot – don’t worry until Bell lands. Once he does this, your strategy basically won’t change.
There’s more background noise and flourishes, but that’s mostly just for drama. That said, what you really want to pay attention to right now is Bell’s new lightning attack. Ideally, any time Bell leaves the ground should be your cue to duck, but in the second phase, you actually need to run away. If you’re not out of range of the initial explosion, you should at least be far enough away to roll out of it and out of range of the more damaging second explosion. This does mean you’ll have to deal with Bell’s ranged attacks afterwards, so keep your camera on him so you can react. Keep lying in harm’s way and Bell will fall. Here’s hoping Egon succeeds, because his triumphant roar will make you feel like running through a wall and challenging your next-door neighbor to a midnight brick fight on the nearest volcano.
The immediate reward for defeating Bell is 400,000 runes, as well as Bell’s Black Heart, which you can turn in at the Dragon Exchange Altar to receive either Bell’s Fire Lightning (his lightning claw attack), or Bell’s Tyranny (his second phase area – effect explosion). Also, the Dragon Communion Priestess will be calm when you get there, but she’ll leave you with some goodies to ease your troubles. By default, you’ll get the Flower Stone Mallet and the Heart of the Priestess, which transforms you into a dragon and enhances the spells you gain from the altar. However, if you give the priestess a mixture of Toriel and put her to sleep, you will find the ashes of her soul here.
Finally, head to the Grace Ruins at the base of Sawtooth Peak. Egon’s body was there. Pay homage to the real man, then pick up his complete set of armor and bell bearings, allowing you to purchase some of his Anti-Dragon Harpoon Arrows from the Twin Maiden Husks in the Round Table Fortress.
