What happened at the end of episode 4?
In a brutal battle at Rook’s Rest, Aegon and his dragon Samphiel take on Rhaenys (Eve Best) riding Mereth, only for the drunken king to be defeated by the one who never was. Queen serves. Aemond intercepted them aboard the massive Vhagar. The problem was, when he gave Vhagar the “Dragon Riders” order for the two battle dragons, he knew full well that Aegon was on the front lines as well.
While we could view Vhagar’s chewing of Lucris in the Season 1 finale as the actions of a rogue dragon, this time it’s on Aemond’s direct orders.
As we see Ser Criston Cole (Fabian Frankel) reeling at the end of the battle, after Aegon and Samphire fall, he sets out to find the king and finds Aemond with him , sword held high, probably ready to finish off his brother. When Aemond hears Cole yelling as if to stop him, he sheathes his sword and picks up Aegon’s Valyrian steel cat’s claw dagger – formerly owned by King Viserys (Paddy Considine) decoration). Cole said nothing and looked frustrated, and Eamond walked away.

How does Alicent know what Aemond did?
At the start of episode five, Alicent and Aemond are red-hot as Aegon’s (alive!) body is carried semi-secretly through the streets of King’s Landing, following the unceremoniously severed head of Melais. View from the walls of the fort. Allison glanced down at Aemond’s belt with trepidation, where Aegon’s dagger hung conspicuously. Alison knows this dagger very well – it’s the one she brought with her to Rhaenyra in Season 1, Episode 7, when she was setting a continent on fire for her heirs. This was also the one that Viserys kept, inscribed with the “Promised Prince” mentioned in King Aegon I’s A Song of Ice and Fire prophecy.

Oh, Allison Know Aemond’s abilities after Lucerys, who had witnessed Aegon’s blatant bullying of Aemond over the years. But would he really kill his own brother, her son? Nothing was said between them, but Aemond did not keep his desire for the Iron Throne completely secret. Later, as Aegon was being treated, Aemond stood by his bedside and deliberately announced to Alicent nearby: “Someone must rule in his stead.”
Later, Alison tried to learn the truth about Eamond’s role from her former lover Cole, but Cole lied to her face. Then, in the Small Council, Alicent was publicly betrayed by Cole, who supported Aemond’s claims as regent, and Aegon was incapacitated. Cole seemed to see an opportunity to jump ship once he realized he failed to protect the King.

Between her continued sabotage of the Small Council, the realization of her son’s true nature, and the truth bomb dropped by Rhaenyra (Emma D’Arcy) during the secret meeting in episode three, Allison must now know that she should quickly Get out of there and join the Dragonstone crew.
Helena also knew what was going on.
Helena (Fia Saban) has nothing to hide, and she immediately realizes how much of a role her brother played in his predicament. At the end of the episode, Aemond stands unabashedly in front of the Iron Throne late at night, admiring its many swords, as the Queen appears behind him.
“Is it worth the price?” Helena asked her brother. Oh, she knew it too.
However, Aemond’s time as regent may not be as secure as he imagined. In the final minutes of the episode, as Allison leaves his room, we hear Aegon’s husky voice say the word “mother,” although she doesn’t hear it. If Aegon could speak, he would also like to report to the Small Council another particularly treasonous word, the word Aemond ordered to him before leaping into the forest below: “Lungkaris.”
