Of the endless mini-council meetings on both sides, Eamond’s was more about discussing next steps. Every time Allison tried to speak, she was either interrupted or completely ignored. The Council simply views her as property again and offers to marry her as an alliance. Her boyfriend did nothing to help her. At the end of the meeting, Eamond dismissed her coldly, telling her that she must long to return to the joys of family. I have to say, I don’t feel sorry for her. I don’t know why she thought they would treat her any differently than Rhaenyra.

Speaking of Rhaenyra, her council meetings went slightly better after Corlys became her assistant. However, she encountered some resistance when she asked Sir Stefan to become a Dragon Knight. He happily agrees, but may soon regret this decision when Haiyan rejects him, burns him to death, and runs away.
When we see Damon, he’s still living his dream. While it was nice to see the characters from season one, Viserys’ Harrenhal storyline got a little stale this week. They need to get to the point or move on. However, Alice does make him wait three days, and three days later, Lord Grover dies or is killed, and Oscar Tully becomes the new lord. If anything good comes out of this storyline, maybe Damon will make amends, as his guilt is definitely starting to show.
Seasmoke was flying over Spice Town, and he had a rider with him – Adam, son of Corliss. This makes sense since he is a Velaryon. Adam wanted his father to acknowledge him the same way he did Arin, and now he might get his wish. I’m glad we get to see more of him and it helps Rhaenyra’s cause, but I’m sad because Rhaena still doesn’t have a dragon, but she learns there’s a big dragon in the Vale, a wild one. Hopefully she can claim this soon.
Aemond returned to another small council meeting, where Lord Larris thought he could manipulate him and quickly gathered, ordering him to bring back Otto Hightower as Aemond’s man. He was also told that Aegon was awake and talking. When he goes to see him, he doesn’t threaten him so subtly, and Aegon says he doesn’t remember – but it’s clear he does.

Rhaenyra and Misalia continued their plan, influencing the small folk and sending out small boats to deliver food. The plan worked, as people now chanted her name in the streets and attacked Alicent and Helana as they prayed. When Allison gets hit in the face by that fish, it’s meant to be serious, but it turns out to be hilarious. I have to say, Alicent finally showed more maternal tendencies in this episode, apologizing to Aegon and asking her brother about her other uncared-for son. She still deserved to get that fish smacked in the face.
The most shocking thing about this episode is that Mythalia and Rhaenyra take their friendship to the next level and share a passionate kiss before being interrupted. If I trusted Mysaria, I could actually support their relationship. Overall, this episode was more interesting than last week, with little action but dialogue that moved the story forward. Speaking of moving on, that’s exactly what I need Daemon to do. Harrenhal had a few good episodes, but it’s dragging on now. Things are looking up for Rhaenyra with the addition of Addam as a dragonrider and the man behind her, with House Green torn apart by backstabbing and intrigue.
