Hot Wheels and Formula One (F1) are going all out with a unique collaboration. The two brands have joined forces to create a new range of 1:64 scale diecast vehicles and playsets, starting with collector’s models from Mattel Creations.
The car features an all-metal chassis, three interchangeable Pirelli tires and custom Real Riders wheels. Inspired by the Hot Wheels “Original 16” design, the car includes an illustrated blister card in a Kar Keepers clamshell box. The number 68 on the front of the car is a nod to the year Mattel introduced Hot Wheels to the market.
Hot Wheels is sold in more than 150 countries. F1 is known for its speed and innovation, with more than 700 million fans across 24 races. Mattel will launch a full line of F1-inspired toys next year to commemorate F1’s 75th anniversary.
“Hot Wheels has always been committed to cultivating the challenger spirit, so partnering with Formula 1 is a natural and exciting fit. It will bring two of the world’s largest fan communities together to share their passion for cars and racing. Passionate. “We’ve teamed up with Formula 1 to create a program that allows kids to replicate the excitement of an F1 car, where they can drive like a pro and interact with our loyal community around the world.” Like Wheels, F1 is all about excitement and automotive performance and the extensive range we have created will take the F1 fan base to the next level and add additional consumer touchpoints such as digital and retail activations.
