British train and collectibles manufacturer Hornby has launched a range of products celebrating the evolution of train travel and celebrating 200 years of railway heritage.
The new range includes a three-pack of the Birth of the Railways, the world’s first passenger steam locomotive, Locomotion No. 1, the 1829 Rainhill Trials winner Rocket and the 1838 baggage locomotive Lion. design, and the Lion demonstrates the rapid progress of early railway engineering.
For a contemporary feel, the new range includes the LNER Azuma high-speed train set, a three-car set that replicates the Class 800 trains introduced on the East Coast Main Line in 2019. efficiency. It can operate on electric or diesel power. The kit includes an electric drive unit with directional lighting and complete layout.
The route includes a retro-style train set, the Hornby Railways BR High Speed Retro Train Set, similar to train sets from the 1970s and 1980s. Its design style is derived from the Hornby R.685 racing group and pays homage to the InterCity 125, with 43 diesel-powered racing cars and a full track layout.
