Meanwhile, the original game was previously available on the PSN Store for just $20. But now that price has doubled, as Sony ensured you can’t save any money by buying an older version and using the cheaper upgrade path.

But what’s going on here is pretty obvious and honestly a little silly.
If people want to buy it on PS4 first and then upgrade to the PS5 version to save $10, who cares? You’re still making money. Or lower the price of the remaster to $30 so people don’t save money, but you also don’t shortchange people who want to buy and play a seven-year-old game on PS4.
Luckily, you can still find cheap second-hand physical copies horizon zero dawn, Sony has confirmed that if you own the disc version, you can still upgrade for $10.
