Ding interview
Thank you for taking the time to do this interview, Tei. Now, we love your animations, which cover a lot of different styles, but some of our readers might spot you. How would you describe your sound?
I really like the classical and simple sound. I also value the resonance of live and acoustic music. I always strive to create the greatest music possible, and that can only be achieved through simplicity.
Looking back on your journey so far, what moments have made you feel like all the hard work of being an artist has been worth it?
Maybe I haven’t experienced that feeling yet. There are still many things I can do, want to do, and must do. So I won’t be satisfied until I’ve done all of that. I believe new ambitions will continue to emerge indefinitely. The world is developing rapidly, and new technologies are emerging one after another. I want to know about all these new developments. That’s why every day is so important to me. I live each day so full that I don’t even have time to think about the week ahead. In that sense, it’s comforting to think about how every day’s efforts contribute to something bigger.
When we talk to anime song composers and singers, we often hear that writing music for anime is a dream come true. Can you share your feelings and how you relate to shows like “Saijaku Tamer wa Gomi Hiroi no Tabi wo Hajimemashita” and “Unnamed Memory”?
Initially, my goal was to become a Vocaloid producer. Creating visual effects is the purpose of my event. However, everything I do now will contribute to my visual work. That’s why I’m at the stage where I challenge myself to try anything.
As fascinating and thrilling as it sounds, we imagine creating the beginning and end of an anime can also be daunting. Did you face any challenges while writing these songs?
As mentioned before, for me, creating an animated beginning and ending is no different than writing any other song. When I compose a song, I establish a theme, choose three keywords, and then build the music from there. This format was also suggested to me by the animation team. Therefore, the only difference is whether the idea is chosen by me or someone else. Essentially, it makes no difference to me.

What is your biggest dream for your future music career?
I want to keep releasing songs. I want to perform well live. Not just karaoke, but a full orchestra. I want to express my musical artistry to the best of my ability during live performances.
Finally, what advice would you give based on your own experience to someone just starting out on their musical journey or dreaming of one day writing/singing theme songs for anime?
It all comes down to persistence. That’s what it’s all about. It’s about staying true to what you want to do. You don’t need to pursue jobs that others can do. Things that are easily replaced don’t last forever. If you can find one thing that only you can do, you’ll last a long time.
