Hogwarts Legacy is one of the best-selling games of 2023, and its enduring popularity keeps this corner of the wizarding world of Harry Potter alive. While there hasn’t been any firm news about the sequel, a new report suggests that the Hogwarts Legacy DLC may be launching sooner than expected.
According to Insider Gaming, Warner Bros. Games is developing Hogwarts Legacy Definitive Edition, which will include 10-15 hours of new content, including additional story missions, side missions, costumes, and more. It will also reportedly be available as DLC to players who have already purchased Hogwarts Legacy.
The report suggests that the Definitive Edition and associated DLC could launch as early as 2025, in part as Warner Bros. Games looks to make up for ongoing losses from Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League’s massive underperformance. Just last month, Warner Bros. said making a Hogwarts Legacy sequel was a “top priority.” Releasing DLC might make the wait between the first game and subsequent games more bearable.
While the series also has an upcoming Harry Potter TV series on HBO, the characters and worlds created by J.K. Rowling are often overshadowed by the author’s anti-trans views, which she constantly shares online and on social media these views. This put her at odds with several of the cast members from the Harry Potter films, as well as her legion of fans.
