“We’re taking the time to gather feedback from Battlefront players, and we’re bringing even more diversity to our content. From missions and objectives to enemies and planets, we’re delivering tons of new content for our veteran Battlefront players and the all-new Hell Divers,” Arrowhead community manager Katherine Baskin wrote in an updated PlayStation Blog , “get ready for our biggest update yet!

Regardless of whether the dive you’re on is a super dive, you’ll encounter “new mission objectives and larger enemy outposts of robots and bugs, offering new super sample rewards.” “These outposts will be heavily guarded and will require player coordination and strategy to take them down,” Baskin writes, so be ready to make some battle plans on the fly in MS Paint.
Then, there are new enemies. The mist-shrouded Spore Charger, the Impaler from the first Helldiver, and the Terminator Alpha Commander are all joining the bug camp, while Rocket Tanks and “some other surprising robots” from the developer are now joining the droids. Throw in a swamp, complete with “rolling mist and untamed flora” that you’ll need to bring a flashlight to reach, and things should be pretty stunning.
Finally, as part of the update, Arrowhead “made some changes to alleviate the Sad Kicks issue” and fixed issues with the social menu. “To help improve this, we implemented a system where if a player is kicked, they will respawn into a new session as the host and gain all the loot from the team from the previous session,” Baskin said of the former wrote, “Squads with all items now able to perform kicks will see a message in the chat widget indicating that the player has been kicked, but their loot remains intact.”
“Free Upgrade” will be launched on August 6th.
