Helldivers 2’s next big patch is due out tomorrow (October 15th), as Arrowhead forgot to include weekends in its plans when it announced its 60 days of summer. The good news is that the studio made up for this minor oversight with a cheeky video teasing what’s in the patch, including Johan Pilestedt’s participation in the joke.
Yes, in another cheeky little video from Arrowhead, CCO Pilestedt and developer Niklas Malmborg point out the fact that the 60-day plan is now technically 63 days.

“We’re not going to release a patch on the weekend because we don’t want to break the game while you’re playing,” Pilestedt explained. “We decided to release the 60th patch on day 63, which is Tuesday. [October 15]Thankfully, the developer did later provide some teasers about the changes that will be coming in the patch.
What are they? Well, the autocannon got some flak (in a good way), the Scorcher got “auto-fire”, the drone backpack became recallable so you can avoid friendly fire, and the Stalwart is getting a patch Get “One of the Best Changes”.
Oh, and recoilless rifles are getting “programmable ammo,” which has led to a lot of speculation from players about what that might mean, including one joke about now being able to make DOOM run with your bullets, Pillais Te responded with a quip in a Reddit comment: “Skyrim will be released on it later.”

There’s also a relatively new major order coming in to help get people through tomorrow, and with the help of the Deep Mantle Forge Complex and the Center for Xenometomology, which have already been acquired in recent orders from Divers, the latest step in building a new space station is, as follows :
“Research progress is currently bottlenecked by the number of available Terminator specimens. Additionally, the emergence of the DSS will significantly increase our need for E-710s. Therefore, the High Command has ordered the establishment of a Terminator research reserve on Akama IV.
“Terminid will be seeded within a strictly controlled area of Acamar IV, allowing natural development but controlled by a strong network of electrified fences. Research teams stationed within the reserve will be able to requisition Terminid samples as needed with the help of SEAF Bug in the future , the reserve can provide not only research specimens but also easily accessible E-710.
“Helldivers will establish and maintain a strict planetary quarantine around Akama IV, isolating the sanctuary from the larger end host.”
So, you should go help protect Gacrux, which appears to be one of the planets on the MO checklist, which also includes Crimsica, Turing, Darius II, and Pandion-XXIV, that currently require your attention, and be sure to check back on October 15th as we Release so you know when the patch goes live and can see what its full patch notes have to offer.
