Marvel Studios has never been shy about making some changes to the source material, but things are going to be very different for Anthony Ramos’ Parker Robbins in “Heart of Steel.” For one thing, Parker’s counterpart in the comics doesn’t have any direct connection to Riri Williams (Dominique Thorne), the young woman behind the Ironheart armor. But according to Ramos, Parker’s transformation into Hood will be relatively true to the spirit of his character.
Ramos told The Hollywood Reporter: “I play this villain ‘The Hood’ in the comics and Parker Robbins wears this hood and it’s too powerful for him. “It was overwhelming and it started to take a toll on his body. You could see it on the outside, you could see how it even affected him on the inside and his personality and how it actually affected him physically, mentally And it destroyed him emotionally, but it gave him so much power that he became addicted to, ‘I can’t let go.’
Ironheart footage, which debuted at D23, suggests that Parker will lead Riley down the wrong path as they pull off a heist to steal the components she needs to create a new Ironheart armor. It’s hard to see how the Magic Hood fits into the story, but Ramos is excited for fans to see his character’s final form.
“[The hood] Becoming a weapon in his quest for revenge, for him, he started small. “He stole in comics and then grew,” Ramos added. “It keeps growing and growing, and just like his strength, I think, it’s a little bit overwhelming for him, but I’m excited. I’m excited for everyone to see what we’re doing with the character, the art department, the visual effects team and special effects makeup for everything. Jonah [Levy] And his whole team, their tattoos and scars are amazing. They really did a crazy job.
“Hearts of Steel” will premiere on Disney+ in 2025.
