iconic fedora hat Harrison Ford wear on Steven Spielberg1984 adventure movie Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom Recently sold at Propstore auction for $630,000!
It is worth noting that this hat was made by the Herbert Johnson Hat Company in London and was designed by Johnson Temple of Doom Costume designers Anthony Powell and Joanna Johnston.
The design of this hat is slightly adjusted compared to the hat seen in the picture Lost Ark GuideThe auction house said it “matches film footage, stills, and behind-the-scenes footage Ford shot in a Sri Lankan village, Elstree Studios mine car chase footage, and river sequence footage.” In the United States, the late stuntman Dean Ferrandini also wore this hat.
The auction catalog provides this description: “Fedora hat made of sable rabbit felt, with dark brown ribbon and leather sweatband stamped with the name and address of the Herbert Johnson Hat Company, and marked size 7 1 /4 tag (European size 59.)
“The sweatband is specially printed with the initials ‘IJ’ in gold, a feature exclusively used on Herbert Johnson’s original hats for the Raiders of the Lost Ark legendary trilogy.
There is also some makeup residue on the front of the sweatband. The style, position, and size of the markers are consistent with other known authentic examples. Temple of Doom Fedora hat.
The hat previously belonged to Ferrandini, who died last year, and the auction also includes unpublished photos of Ferrandini in an Indiana Jones costume and a letter of authenticity signed by his wife.
