Earlier this week, rumors surfaced that Warner Bros. was looking to open a new studio The Goonies Movie. This sounds a bit official, as it’s claimed that the original cast will return, Steven Spielberg (who created the story for the first film) will direct, and the movie is set to be released sometime in 2026 or 2027. But that’s not the case, and fellow original stars Corey Feldman and Martha Plimpton shot down the rumor difficult. Feldman said he had “no information” a sequel was in the works, while Plimpton was more direct.
