Google Pixel Buds Pro 2 leaked, bringing back wingtips — sort of

Google’s Pixel Buds Pro 2 may return to the wingtip design we saw on the first-generation Pixel Buds. shared a series of images Android headlines Reliable leaker OnLeaks shows that the earphones have a slight bump opposite the tip of the ear.

The wings are not as prominent as the so-called “stabilizing arc” that was prominent on the original Pixel Buds. Our review of these 2020 headphones mentioned that the arc could cause discomfort after prolonged wear. Hopefully the same thing won’t happen with the softer wings on the Buds Pro 2.

Aside from the wingtips, the Pixel Buds Pro 2 appear to have swapped the black grille of their predecessors for a larger grille that matches the color of the earphones. Android headlines We also obtained images of several colors that look like the Pixel Buds Pro 2: grey, white, green, and pink.

Meanwhile, the case looks essentially the same, with the same egg-shaped shape and LED lights on the front. Leaked images from accessory maker Spigen show that the Pixel Buds Pro 2 case may also have a small hole next to the USB-C port. This could be the speaker that makes sound when using Google’s Find My Device feature, but its purpose remains unclear.

The updated Pixel Buds Pro aren’t the only device to leak ahead of Google’s August 13 hardware event. Earlier today, we saw marketing materials containing possible specs for the Pixel 9, Pixel 9 Pro, and Pixel 9 Fold. If Google doesn’t fully reveal its device first, we might see more leaks in the weeks leading up to the event.
