Google Pixel 9 Pro Fold could be the thinnest foldable phone yet

Honestly, Google, this is probably the most leaked launch I’ve ever covered in my entire consumer tech career. As we get closer to Google’s hardware launch date of August 13th, it seems like there will be a leak one day. So far, we know most of the products, their specifications, and what they look like. The only thing we’re not sure about is pricing and speculation everywhere. Today’s leaks involve the Pixel 9 Pro Fold and Pixel Watch 3.

Google Pixel 9 Pro foldable phone

Therefore, there are rumors that the Google Pixel 9 Pro Fold will be thinner than the Pixel 9 Pro Fold. Samsung Galaxy X Fold 6. According to Android Headlines, Google’s upcoming foldable phone will be thinner than Samsung’s smartphone. This isn’t new territory for Google, as the 9 Pro Fold’s predecessor was one of the thinnest foldable devices in the country. inches (5.1 mm). This will likely make it the thinnest foldable device on the market when it launches. It will also be one of the heavier ones. Current reports indicate that the 9 Pro Fold weighs 9.1 ounces (257 grams), which is about 10% lighter than its predecessor.

And if that’s not enough, Steve HemmerstorferAKA OnLeaks and 91Mobiles, reported on a set of leaked promotional photos. They showed off the display size, some AI features, and US pricing for the phone. The smartphone comes in two configurations, with the 256GB version reportedly priced at $1,799 and the 512GB version priced at $1,919. There are quite expensive options among them.

I’m curious to see how much, if any, impact the new slimmest smartphones will have on durability. While a thinner phone does sound appealing, I worry about the potential for dents and cracks.

    Google Watch 3

The leaks don’t stop with the fold; there are leaks and rumors swirling around the Pixel Watch 3. Thinner bezels give the watch a larger screen. According to reports, the 41mm watch dial will be 10% larger than the previous generation. Google will reportedly launch a 45mm watch in addition to last year’s 41mm chronograph. Other quality-of-life improvements include a brighter screen and 20 percent faster charging than past watches.

If the news is true, both watches have 24 hours of battery life (always-on display enabled). In the new power-saving mode, battery life jumps to 36 hours. This has led to speculation that the watch won’t use Wear OS’s “hybrid interface,” which is supposed to significantly extend battery life. Take the OnePlus Watch 2, for example, which reportedly has a battery life of up to 100 hours.

I’ve owned the previous two generations of Google Watch 3, and I’m looking forward to owning this one. I would never say no to a bigger screen or a bigger watch, period. Of course, longer battery life is never out of the question here. I’m excited about new fitness features, like the new morning Fitbit Brief, which gives you a rundown of your current health and fitness news. I’m also looking forward to ultra-wideband support for better location tracking and offline Google Maps functionality, which could help me navigate the vast streets of New York. But are the new audio and haptic cues designed to enhance customization? As someone who hates running, I can take it or leave it.
