Google is reportedly considering spending $23 billion to acquire cloud cybersecurity startup Wiz, whose partners include Amazon and Oracle wall street journal. That’s nearly double what it paid for Motorola Mobility in 2012, which would be the most Google has ever paid for another company.
New York-based Wiz provides “isolated security tools and scanners” for the enterprise space, according to the company. Wiz writes that it secures enterprise cloud infrastructure “by creating a standardized layer between cloud environments,” allowing enterprises to “quickly identify and eliminate critical risks.” Acquiring such a company feels particularly targeted at a Microsoft that looks increasingly vulnerable, having been through a number of high-profile incidents recently…
