Gods Unchained recently rolled out major updates, including the introduction of two new game formats and an improved Daily Play Earnings (DPE) system.

These changes are intended to change the way players engage with the game, with a particular focus on strategic deck building under specific conditions.

Additionally, the final patch for the Fear Awakening event has been released, marking the end of the game’s development phase.

    Introducing new formats

Over the past two weeks, Gods Unchained has launched two limited-time game formats designed to challenge players with specific deck-building restrictions.

The first format, called Flashback: Divine Order, runs from August 20 to August 22 and requires players to use a limited selection of cards from the Welcome, Core, Genesis, Etherbots, Trial of the Gods, and Divine Order sets to Build a deck.

The format introduces specific rules that require players to make strategic adjustments, including applying their current seeding, reflecting normal match progression, and only allowing those seeded at 7 or above to participate. Players are protected from being demoted below level 7, promotional cards are prohibited, and the DPE modifier is set to 1.5.

The second format subsequently launched on August 26th and will run until August 30th. Submit their decks and the winner is chosen to be included in the format’s Wall of Fame.

    Improved daily game revenue system

This update also brings changes to the Daily Play Earnings (DPE) system.

The DPE modifier, which affects the number of shards a player receives after winning a match, has been adjusted to better reflect a player’s ranking and the quality of their deck. For example, the value of the rarest Mythic card in the Gods Unchained universe was increased from 125 to 250 in the deck modifier system.

Shard income is now limited to players who are at least level 7, a step taken to limit the impact of lower level bots and better reward loyal players. This adjustment is intended to reduce the impact of automated bots and ensure that active and higher-ranked players are rewarded appropriately.

    Final patch for Fear Awakening

In addition to the new format and DPE changes, the final patch for the DreadAwakening event has been released, which includes updates to the Dreadtouch mechanic and other gameplay improvements.

This patch marks the end of Fear Awakening updates due to the unique design approach in the game. Final tweaks are made to refine the campaign and resolve any remaining issues.

Future events will shift focus to new themed designs that resonate more strongly with evolving gameplay.
