The American Library Association’s graphic novel and comics Roundtable (GNCRT) announced the annual 2024 Best Graphic Novels for Adults (BGNA) Reading List and Top 10 Lists. The list focuses on the best graphic novels for adults published in the second half of 2023 to 2024 and helps to gain more attention in this often overlooked category (at least in the library).
Adult Reading List Select Committee’s Best Graphic Novels consist of GNCRT members, with a background of graphic novels and their use in adult programming and services. Leslie Flynn, Chairman of the Selection Committee, said: “When we chose the 2024 list, I am honored to lead the committee. We look for unique books from creators around the world, especially those with this kind of quotations. Books that do extraordinary things in the format. I believe that regardless of their passion or experience with graphic novels, this year’s list has something great for everyone.”
The complete list of the best graphic novels for the 2024 Best Adult Reading List, including the Top 10 list, is available online on the GNCRT website. GNCRT President Shira Pilarski said of this year’s roster: “Congratulations to this year’s roster committee, this is an excellent champion for comic fans with wide interest. Whether you are a reader of comics or Western graphic novels, it’s memoirs, science fiction, horror Or fans of classical narrative, you’ll surely find the next great read on this list.”
