Funko has a rapidly growing fan base in Japan, and the brand is leaning into it.
Funko will return to this year’s Tokyo Comic Con for a third year. The booth area will be four times that of last year.
Funko plans to provide audiences with an elite experience. Pop culture purveyors will receive collectibles from Funko Pop! series, Bitty Pop! and clothing line Loungefly.
“Japan’s deep passion for character-driven storytelling aligns perfectly with Funko’s approach. Over the past few years, as we have expanded our product range to resonate with fans’ love for these unique collectibles, our sales and fan community have achieved steady growth, and Tokyo Comic Con is the perfect event for us to celebrate with this vibrant community,” said Andy Clempson, Vice President of Sales, Asia Pacific, Funko.
Fans can look forward to 17 Funko Pop! Tokyo Comic Con Exclusive Figures, Over 100 Funko Collectibles, Giant Spider-Man themed Funko Pop! Photo booth and extra Funko Pop! Data comes from their license with Warner Bros. and Netflix.
Funko and Disney have been licensing partners since 2011, so Funko’s booth was strategically located directly in front of the Disney booth.
Tokyo Comic Con will be held from December 6th to 8th. For more information about Tokyo Comic Con and to obtain tickets, visit tokyocomiccon.jp/en/. More information about Funko Pop! Please visit funko.com.
