Thrilljoy, a new company dedicated to premium, extremely limited collectibles, will make its debut at New York Comic Con (NYCC). The company will bring its products to booth 1023.
Thrilljoy was founded by two Funko alumni—former CEO Brian Mariotti and former senior vice president of licensing and emerging brands Dolly Ahluwalia—as well as Undefeated owner Eric Peng Cheng and MINDstyle International owner MD Young.
The founders will host a panel discussion at NYCC on Thursday, October 17th. The panel will examine trends in the collectibles space and discuss the company’s plans to disrupt the industry. Members of the Fan Advisory Board will also speak. The company plans to give away freebies and exclusive products at the seminar.
Our motivation for launching Thrilljoy stems from a deep passion for our fans and a commitment to enhancing the collector experience. We recognized this was a unique opportunity to build a brand that not only respected diverse interests but also cultivated a vibrant community. The founders established a Fan Advisory Board of content creators, innovators, and collectors from diverse fandoms to set their company apart. The board of directors owns equity in the company.
“When we say we’re creating products for fans, we mean it—it’s not an empty promise. Our advisory board allows us to leverage pop culture like never before. We engage directly with the people who matter most: fans ,” Mariotti said.
The company will debut at NYCC with three product lines: PIX!, Mega Pix 12” and Thrilljoy Threads. PIX! immortalizes key moments in pop culture history. PIX! Figures ($50) come in a protective case and Packaging to protect the value and integrity of the collectible Mega Pix 12″ ($125) comes in deluxe packaging; the collectible is a larger version of the PIX! Figures and includes magnetic accessories. Collectors can look forward to purchasing Bloo, the brand’s mascot. The brand’s third collection, Thrilljoy Threads (starting at $40), highlights streetwear trends. The ultra-limited edition premium series is limited to 200-400 pieces. Items in the collection are also sold in innovative protective packaging.
