Marvel seems to be going all-in on Doom, as it was revealed at D23 that the next season of Fortress Heroes will be all about the comic book villain.
Last month at San Diego Comic-Con, Marvel announced that Robert Downey Jr. would be returning to the Marvel Universe…not as Iron Man, but as fan-favorite supervillain Doctor Doom. Marvel seems happy to go all out with a metal-faced version of Doom, as Epic Games has revealed that Fortress Heroes Chapter 5 Season 4 is titled “Absolute Doom” and will also feature some new skins for some popular Marvel characters .

If you get the game’s battle pass right now, you’ll unlock the Gwen Poole costume, another fan-favorite character. On top of that, you can also get skins for War Machine, Emma Frost, Mysterio, and Shuri, as well as a Wolverine-themed Pili skin and a Captain America-themed Jones suit. Doom himself will appear as a skin through Battle Pass missions in September.

The trailer, which you can check out above, also shows off several new abilities that you can use in matches as you try to get your hands on the divine voice. First up is Captain America’s shield, which does exactly what you’d expect, and Shuri’s claws, which allow you to slice your opponents into pieces. You can also use Iron Man’s boots to fly around and attack people with his energy blasts, or you can don War Machine gear if that’s more your style.
There’s also news that the Fantastic Four will be coming to Fortress Heroes sometime this year, though the trailer didn’t reveal that, and that The Incredibles will be coming to Fortress Heroes as well (they may not be Marvel’s , but Marvel is now Disney after all).
The new season is starting soon too as it starts next week on August 16th.
