Genshin Impact’s 5.0 update – which brings players to a new area of Natlan – may be the most gorgeous version of the game yet. Inuma was pretty good when it first came out, especially the walk to the castle tower. Sumeru has raised the bar yet again. But Nutland defied such expectations. This was the first time I played Genshin Impact just to look around.
This may sound strange to two groups of people – those who are action-focused and those who have been watching the beauty of Genshin Impact for years with their eyes wide open – but I think Natlan There’s a certain energy and need that takes it all to another level. The contrast between the painted murals on the sides of the cliffs and the brown rocks and green grass covering the top…it’s amazing.

Much of Natland’s world design also innovates on previous updates. One of the first major places you head to is a town in the northeast corner of the map belonging to the Echoson tribe. It is a small settlement built between two huge cracked stones. There is a path on the ground that leads right across, but to actually reach the people there, you have to walk onto a handmade bridge, forcing your camera to capture the perfect image of the scene. Over the years, the HoYoverse team has gotten particularly good at framing things, something that’s hard to do in an open-world exploration game like this.
This massive expansion for Genshin Impact has you climbing a lot of large rocky surfaces, which can be a bit tiresome if you’re using the standard climbing mechanics, especially for new players who are just catching up through the main story content. explain. Thankfully, this is where lizard form comes in. Breath of the Wild’s climbing and gliding gameplay has lost its luster for some time. This is not a problem with the game, it’s just that it takes too long!
Lizardfolk can provide healing comfort to any feelings of fatigue and frustration in this aspect of the game. Tepetron allows you to burrow underground, but more importantly, you can use this technique in certain locations to quickly shoot down the sides of huge mountains! Without this, frankly, it wouldn’t be worth it to actually see all the lovely new vistas and scenery in the 5.0 update. The Yumkarosaurus lets you fly great distances into the sky, and the Koholasaurus finally makes water travel endearing rather than a headache.
This is the visual feast of Genshin Impact 5.0 on a macro level, but I firmly believe that the HoYoverse team also surpassed itself in terms of character combat effects! I was able to play Kinic early on at Gamescom, and his retro video game action set popped off the screen with such style and intensity that I almost didn’t want to play anyone else. Other characters introduced here, like Mullaney and Kachina, also show signs of improvement over the new characters in previous major updates. The 5.0 update of Genshin Impact is a visual upgrade for body and soul.
Like, it has giant dinosaurs. There must be a meaning to this.
