The recently released film “Fly Me to the Moon,” starring Channing Tatum and Scarlett Johansson, tells an alternate history centered on the 1969 Apollo 11 mission and moon landing. Co-financed by Apple, it will air on Apple TV+ later this year.

But Apple has been in the moon landing alternative history game for much longer than that. For All Mankind, a series that imagines how the space race might have played out if the Soviet Union landed on the moon before the United States, premiered on Apple TV+ on November 1, 2019, the same day the service launched.

Since then, Apple has streamed 40 episodes of “For All Mankind” through four seasons, with the fourth season ending in January.

We’re excited to continue building this with our partners at Apple and Sony The parallel history universe of “For All Mankind”.

“For All Mankind” spans several decades and tells an alternative history of what would have happened if the Soviet space program had beaten the United States to the moon in 1969.

This leads to differences between the US President on the show and in real life. The U.S. space program has also seen various advances, such as the human landing on Mars in the 1990s and a longer-than-real-life Cold War.

By the end of Season 4, the Martian colony known as Happy Valley had grown even larger. Yet tensions continue to rise on the Red Planet.

How many episodes are there in the fifth season of “For All Mankind”?

Apple has yet to announce the number of episodes for Season 5. However, each of the first four seasons had 10 episodes, which means the next season will likely have 10 episodes as well.
