- This year, the animation “Macross 7” celebrates its 30th anniversary. On September 15th, Basara Nekki, the protagonist of the anime and the lead singer of the serialized rock band FIRE BOMBER, started a live tour in Yokohama, Osaka, Aichi and Tokyo, titled “SANKYO Presents MACROSS 7 30th Anniv”. BASARA Blast 2024 from Fire Bomber. After KT Zepp Yokohama’s debut, cancel culture was announced!
- FIRE BOMBER has confirmed to hold a live performance called “SANKYO Presents MACROSS 7 30th Anniv.” Flamebomber Live 2025 ~ Burn! burn! BURN!~” will be held at Toyosu PIT in Tokyo from February 21 to 22, 2025. The performers are of course Yoshiki Fukuyama and Chie Kajiura.
- This performance is FIRE BOMBER’s return to the stage after six years after “MACROSS CROSSOVER LIVE 2019 at Makuhari Messe”. It is also the first solo live performance after “FIRE BOMBER 2012” in 13 years.

I’m overwhelmed that FIRE BOMBER is releasing new songs again. I’ve performed many FIRE BOMBER songs in various venues over the past 30 years, but I took on this challenge with the mindset of creating another iconic song.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, we have to perform shows without the audience being able to sing along, but FIRE BOMBER just won’t be the same if we don’t sing along. Basara’s catchphrase is “Listen to my song!” but I think he’s happiest when people sing with him. I’m most looking forward to singing this new song with everyone at the February concert.

Congratulations to Macross 7 on its 30th anniversary! I never thought we would be releasing a new song on such a historic milestone. I would like to express my deep gratitude to all the fans who have supported us for so long.
So, what song to sing on the 30th anniversary? What is Meilin thinking? We had a lot of new ideas, but only one new song… After much deliberation, I sang a love song, thinking about her growth.
Then there is the live performance ♪ Thanks to Mr. Sasaki of FlyingDog for his fair and sincere invitation, I happily agreed to perform. (I hope to do more shows in Tokyo, Nagoya, and Osaka!) As you know, I have always stood by my belief in delivering music in my own way, even though I know that approach may lead to differing opinions. But, believe it or not, even I want to stick to original songs for this 30th anniversary. Can you believe it? See you in February!
