We wanted answers, and the creative team behind Sunny finally found a way to give us them. And they’re doing it in the most gut-wrenching way possible.
Secrets and mystery have been the cornerstone of the series since the first episode.
Luckily, It’s Always Sunny is one of those shows where the journey is more interesting than the destination.
However, the show wants to ensure that the arrival is as reality-skewing as the trek.
Throughout Season 1 of It’s Always Sunny , questions continue to arise, with more questions introduced each episode.
Are Martha and Zen still alive? What is the relationship between Ji and Masa? What does the gang want from Suzy? What is the purpose of Sunny?
From the outset, it was clear that Sunny’s capabilities were different from those of other robots.
She is petty and sarcastic, but also very optimistic. The way she understands human emotions makes her feel as real as any human character.
If you watched the last episode, you know that it ends with a huge question mark about what the hell happened.
The Apple TV+ series continues the journey through Sunny’s mind and memories on psychedelics. Check out this exclusive clip from It’s Always Sunny Season 1 Episode 9 below!
If for no other reason, I watched this episode just to understand how much loneliness is like hunger. I need more explanation of this theory.
There’s not much to glean from this sequence other than the fact that Sonny (Joanna Sotomura) is having a “this is your life” moment.
At the very least, it’s clear that whatever is going on has to do with Sonny and Martha’s overwhelming loneliness.
We see him as Masa in a clean suit, but whether this is before or after he meets Suzie is unclear.
While Rashida Jones doesn’t appear in the clip, we have no doubt she will appear in the episode.
Her journey to discover the truth about her husband’s past puts her in dangerous situations, but she has nothing left to lose.
Massa is dead. Zen is dead. Her mother-in-law is in jail. From what we know about her past, nothing awaits her when she returns home.
With just two episodes left, “It’s Always Sunny” season 1 is coming to a mind-bending conclusion.
As long as we finally get some damn answers, I’ll be disappointed with anything in this series!
In case anyone forgot, the first episode had the opening scene of a violent robot. Does this sequence take place before or after the gore begins?
Do you think Massa is still alive?
What do you think Massa meant when he said loneliness is like hunger?
