Mattel is continuing the new tradition of connecting with adult fans online. Last year, Mattel’s work revealed more than 20 new collections for live broadcasts, including the universe’s master-level luxury Sy-sy-klone characters, sold out on the same day.
The first Mattel work shows that the live broadcast has more than 300,000 viewers and 22,000 comments, so Mattel decided to continue the new tradition. On March 6, from 9-11:30 pm, Mattel Creation Team will introduce fans to the way forward of collectors of the company’s most popular brands.
“Expect the big things about Barbie dolls, Hot Wheels, Little Man Collectors, WWE, UNO, Cosmic Masters and Monster High School,” said Chris Down, Mattel executive vice president and chief design officer. “Fans will see iconic characters as part of these brand legacy, but never achieved this way. Here’s a major first: We’re launching a brand new product platform in one of our most legendary brands, Offering fans an unprecedented level of customization. In addition, we bring fans into the previous creative process, which includes a fan-designed T-shirt that will be created by fans, for fans.”
Of course, the second Mattel piece ever revealed has been upgraded, bringing fans a new and exciting experience. Some fans will even be featured in the live stream itself, with six winners of the Fan Collection contest participating in the stream at Mattel Design HQ in El Segundo, California.

The live stream will also chat with members of the Mattel design team, who talk about the process behind some of our favorite characters and toys.
