Before she stars in a blockbuster movie, Zendaya could almost be a part of Disney Channel descendants franchise at one point.
in a recent interview magic rewind During the podcast, Cornelia Frame, the network’s former vice president of casting and talent relations, revealed that the Emmy winner actually auditioned for the musical fantasy TV movie multiple times.
“Zendaya auditioned multiple times descendantsit was a big deal,” she recalled to host Will Friedel (boy meets world) and Sabrina Bryan (cheetah girls). “It was a really big deal. She auditioned over and over again and really wanted it. It just didn’t work out in the end.
this descendants The series centers on teenage children of classic Disney villains, including Maleficent, the Evil Queen, Jafar and Cruella de Vil. The first film premiered in 2015, and the two sequels premiered in 2017 and 2019 respectively. Descendants: The Rise of Red was released on Disney+ earlier this month.
Frame added that Zendaya “puts so much effort and work into it,” however, “this is just one of those things.”
“Now that I think about it, I’m like, ‘ Spider-Man Did it happen at the same time? “Things happen for a reason, and when you don’t get something else, you do often book another amazing thing.”
