Essentially, this turned the entire promotional panel into a Daredevil Rebirth panel – surprising every Marvel fan. Here’s a chronological review.
Frank Miller on his career and rebirth
Frank Miller once again guest-starred on the panel, having been a panelist at the previous Marvel Fan Event last year. Frank talked about his childhood growing up in Vermont, his love of watching cartoons on Saturday mornings and his early love of Miller, then described how his father would bring back comic books for him to read because comic books were Local pharmacies were everywhere, and he recalls the invention of comic book stores as a popular new idea at the time that absolutely fascinated him.
“Comics were perfect in a way because it was the one thing you could do that didn’t require anything but the most basic tools,” Miller recalled while speaking on the panel. “Pal tip, pen, paper, you can make it yourself.”
He shared how he knew he wanted to make comics from the age of 5. His first idea, which came to him while watching his mother make bread, was for a “doughboy”—a hero who could punch and stretch.
“Then Jack Kirby, Stan Lee, and Steve Ditko came along. Everything changed. I learned how much more Shakespeare comics had to offer. Comics ended their adolescence…and soon, I It will also end.
Miller then reflected on his time with Daredevil. “Everyone else had extraordinary abilities, but he had an extraordinary disability,” he said.
Describing the origins of his “rebirth” method, Miller explained that he wanted to strip Murdoch to nothing to show him his true identity. This gave Frank Miller the ability to recreate him and get to the heart and soul of the character. The legacy that followed was a by-product of this approach.
New Daredevil: A Cold Day in Hell
This resulted in Announcing the upcoming release of Daredevil: A Cold Day in Hell . The comic will be produced by Charles Soule and Steve McNiven who together completed a project called Death of Wolverine. It was a project they worked on together for four years, and it was heavily influenced by Frank Miller’s storytelling style, particularly the use of panels per page at a level that was unprecedented in comics history.
“In the books, Daredevil is older. His powers are radiation-based,” Soule revealed while introducing his story to viewers. “When the story begins, he is old and blind, running a soup kitchen and living a stable life.”
Describing the inciting incident that begins the story, Soule explains: “The story takes place in the winter, and everything in life is fine. But when a dirty bomb goes off in Hell’s Kitchen, Matt suddenly gains strength again, But only temporarily. Now, he only has 72 hours to risk it again and solve the mystery of who set off the bomb. It’s a curveball about what it’s like to return to a world that was left behind.
Daredevil Reborn
Now, aside from a social media leak, it hasn’t officially been released online, but a new trailer was shown at NYCC’s Daredevil Reborn panel. From what has been shown, the show looks to be pretty exciting, including footage of Daredevil meeting the Punisher, Muse, and the Kingpin. It also confirms the appearances of Bullseye, Karen, and Fudge, as well as other possible inferences from the comics, including the possible reveal of the White Tiger, a man in a white suit and a golden tiger pendant who comes to visit the prison (which Still unofficial as we don’t know the context of this scene yet).
The show is about a whole new world for this set of characters. Kingpin and Daredevil know who each other is and apparently… try to coexist with each other without crossing each other’s boundaries.
Here’s the official show’s premise:
Matt Murdock, a highly capable blind lawyer, is fighting for justice through his busy law firm, while former mob boss Wilson Fisk pursues his political career in New York. As their past identities begin to surface, the two find themselves inevitably on a collision course.
During the Daredevil Rebirth panel, it was clear that there would be a lot of content from the source material, including a larger take on the character of Muse, who is Charles Soule and Ron A popular villain created by Ghani returns during the 2015 run.
For those unfamiliar, Muse is a deranged serial killer who enjoys killing people in a clever way. As for how and in what capacity, we will have to wait until March 4 to find out.
Talk about the show, ex-Marvel editor turned Marvel movie producer There is an authorization Dropped by. Amanat talks about what it’s like to work on TV shows, as an editor on Daredevil, on Ms. Marvel and now Daredevil Reborn.
She made her expectations clear at the start of the panel, and that “Rebirth” would not be a direct adaptation. She promised that the spirit of the story’s themes will be retained, but the third season of the original Daredevil series has done a lot of “rebirth”. She emphasized that the show will feel like the audience is already familiar with “Daredevil” but has entered a new chapter.
Vincent D’Onofrio and Charlie Cox make surprise appearances
If that wasn’t enough proof that this was a Daredevil panel, fans were also welcomed with special appearances from Matt Murdock and The Kingpin himself, Charlie Cox and Vincent D’Onofrio. They discussed their respective roles in the Marvel Cinematic Universe over the past few years, including Cox’s appearance in She-Hulk and D’Onofrio’s guest roles in Hawkeye and Echo.
On what to expect from the upcoming season:
“In a weird way, it took us back to the drawing board,” Charlie Cox said of the fans’ enthusiasm. “There’s this idea that as long as one of them doesn’t cross a line, they trust each other. It’s a good place to start the season.
“The paths they take this season also have to do with their personal lives,” Vincent D’Onofrio continued, emphasizing the larger role of Vanessa (played by Ayelet Zurer). Much more.
Speaking about the new suits on display at NYCC, Cox and Donofrio joked:
“I’m glad they gave me three zippers. It means I can pee,” Charlie Cox said.
“I just thought it was funny. It takes three people to pee,” Donofrio continued.
Cox also revealed to the audience that he really hopes that one day, he can upgrade to the next suit and one day be able to wear a full set of DD Double D tights for the show.
That’s it for the Daredevil Rebirth panel. Everyone was happy. Everyone gets an exclusive Daredevil comic. If you haven’t seen it yet, the internet has gone crazy.
