Fortnite Festival is a lot of fun and a great addition to the Fortnite ecosystem – the cost of the jams is too high, but I got more than enough from the songs I purchased in the actual Festival mode and between jams mileage. But the song-buying experience was a nightmare.
For whatever reason, there is no way to view song difficulty in the item shop or locker – the only places in the game where you can see song difficulty are in the song selector on the festival stage and between songs during sessions. But even then, you can only see one song and/or instrument at a time.
This is frustrating because it makes it difficult to understand the range of content available. I would say that by now I’m a pretty hardcore player and my favorites tend to be the ones with 5 or more difficulty levels on the drums. But in Fortress Heroes, there’s no way to see which songs have 5 or more bars of drum sound without scrolling through all the songs individually in the song selector. And the song picker only shows songs owned by someone in your session – so you may never see everything there.
This annoyed me so much that I made a big spreadsheet organizing every festival song by difficulty and instrument, including Pro Lead and Pro Bass charts for guitar controllers. This will help you buy songs that are right for you without having to search for content on Google alone.
