What do you think Episode 7 of
Blue box? Community rating: 4.3
The title is “Can I Have One?” It is an exposure of its low-key ambitions. blue box Always leaning more toward slice-of-life storytelling, the biggest sources of “conflict” so far have been things like a potentially sprained ankle, a cute aquarium date, and the one time Sheena wondered for a few seconds if she should ask the big tree Ask Chinatsu about their living conditions. Here, the entire episode title revolves around something seemingly innocuous, with both Hina and Chinatsu asking for some of Daiki’s chicken snacks. between here and He DaheThe seventh episode of Immortal, I don’t know which episode is more exciting!
I’m kidding, of course, and I don’t necessarily think there’s a lack of high-stakes melodrama blue box is a bad thing. However, “Can I Have One?” was the first time this show gave me the opportunity to check my watch multiple times before the end credits finally came up. Of course, there’s still good stuff: Chinatsu deals with some mild trash talk on the field after the game; Daiki has to balance his desire to ask Chinatsu out with her need to avoid any distractions at this critical moment in her high school sports career; the chicken tender incident subsided. It’s all cute, furry, feel-good entertainment.
If I’m dismissive of it for any reason, it’s probably just because of the show’s lack of visual momentum this week; the episode’s key story beats are scattered among many scenes of quiet dialogue, all of which are dominated by characters’ heads Composed of back and forth medium shots. Brief movement sequences of Daiki playing badminton are entertaining but have little cinematic flair. blue boxThe non-sports scenes have their own sense of style.
Plus – and this is a matter of my personal preference for romantic stories – I seem to have gotten to the point where my tired old heart at least needs a little More drama to keep the momentum going. Don’t get me wrong, I can understand that silly, heart-pounding excitement that comes from wondering if you like that girl possible Jealousy doesn’t stop there other girlsGet your nugget; I once lost sleep for two days because my soon-to-be high school girlfriend gave me a coupon for 15% off the pottery store she worked at. Still, one of my least favorite things about traditional anime romances is the amount of time the kids spend pining for each other and dancing around their feelings.
I don’t expect Daiki to fulfill his daydream and propose to someone like Chinatsu, but I’d be happy if we didn’t have to wait also Long before these two…I don’t know, holding hands, or something? If that’s too much to ask, then at least I hope all those wistful adolescent longings are given color and style in future episodes. If I’m going to sit for months waiting for these two stupid kids to finally kiss each other, at least blue box All you can do is make everything look so haggard real Beautiful.
