this is a good move Magical Girls Inc. Maggie Lumil Make sure as early as possible that the titular company is an excellent and fair member company of the magical girl industry. The cynical trappings of this peculiar character-turned-job can still be explored through other companies, but Kana’s adventure retains its core desire. It creates a magical girl experience that is both a satisfying fantasy for adults and an inspiration for little girls: if your work really was A satisfying, management-bought pizza party that doesn’t just empty-handedly implore you not to strike?
brighten It’s a big event in Japan’s business world, so the role of the pizza party is filled by the after-get off work karaoke party. Some may decry such extracurricular trips as “filler” on the show, who would rather see uniformed magical girls blowing up monsters in concert and setting up as much business intrigue as possible, but look, these ladies are always on the go , they need time to relax. The reason I love this whole section is that it serves the characterization purpose of many other series sidebars very well, as well as the real-life purpose of this type of outing: getting to know these people better.
Even before the festivities officially begin, viewers learn details about these characters based on their reactions. Even at the end of the day, Nicoshan was very focused on work and worried that he wouldn’t be able to get everything done in time to go out with everyone. At the same time, President Shigemoto will certainly take into account everyone’s likely pre-planned schedules when issuing invitations, while also revealing that he has completed the rest of Niko’s workload in the meantime, so he has a chance to participate. Kaede demonstrates that he is a natural member of the sales team, always ready with coupons. As Cana continues to observe and figure out how she fits into it all, they fit into her role and activities within the company.
POV characters are a time-tested storytelling device because, when used correctly, they can effectively pull double duty, both depicting the protagonist of the story and conveying the message naturally to the audience. “Natural” is the keyword there, as all the other members of Magilumiere are just being their natural selves during karaoke outings, while Kana is observing this behavior in its natural habitat. Even though they are actually performing songs, there’s no sense of performance when Nico sociopathically takes the singing back to himself when the waiter sticks his head into the room, or when Kaede doesn’t sing herself but manages other people’s activities all night. And it was interesting to see Kana turn the table towards her and have someone look closely at the details she once.
That’s the way this clip is, there isn’t even any magical girl action other than Shigemoto being extremely dedicated role play Karaoke performance, the most relaxed and serious fun brighten Already had it with myself. The skewed character details that aren’t necessarily directly relevant to the plot are neat, such as Koshitani’s ability to project while singing. Don’t think I didn’t notice the many times she exclaimed how cute Kana was. I could go on and review every point and that would be enough, but I won’t. Karaoke isn’t the whole show, even though it’s the centerpiece of it.
That’s the sentiment expressed by President Shigemoto that one of the reasons they’re doing this is to give Kana an idea of what else the company is like when he joins. It’s easy to forget that even with “magical girl 9-5 jobs,” they’re still trying to protect people. Magilumiere made this point last week when he defended the shopping district, and reflected in a quieter way how these employees need to experience the joyous moments that people participate in every day so that they know what they are protecting. This is consistent with the way Shigemoto still seriously views magical girls as “heroes,” and contributes to what makes Magilumiere unusual as a business in the industry.
This is all consistent with the satisfaction that Magilumiere’s employees feel working for their boss, along with some speculation about his cross-dressing habits and a past that may be related to it. The writing certainly wants the audience to start speculating on this as much as the characters (again effectively writing the value of the character’s POV), as more connections from Shigemoto’s past are returning, having Kana collaborate with cosmetics company Miyakodo, and most importantly, making the meeting more professional magical girl. New character Yuri Aoi poignantly uses the term “magical lady,” which I know some viewers prefer to describe all of the heroines in the series now that they’re all adults. But regardless, it’s a clever side story, and there’s the detail of Aoi moving from another department to Magical Girl, just like you do in so many other jobs. (God, I love the world-building in this series.) This week’s episode brighten Having spent a lot of time simply setting the tone for myself and the story ahead, that confidence paid off with an enjoyable time, enough to keep me excited for the next storyline to unfold.
