always Goku and his friends pick up their newest traveling companion on a road trip through the Demon Realm and move on. This new companion comes in the form of Panzy, a demon girl who seems to have a lot of courage but is weak in strength that would otherwise make her feel out of place in almost any other modern version. dragon ball. However, it seems like she would be a great addition here. While her introduction isn’t the most exciting thing we’ve gotten from the show, it’s still interesting enough to be another solid episode.
After being rescued by Goku, Pansy decides to follow the boys and continue to the Third Demon King’s City. Glorio, always grumpy, isn’t too happy about the prospect of her dragging them down, which he might not be entirely without reason considering her abilities as a demon are barely strong enough to move a rock. Although Panzy probably won’t make the next list dragon ball fighting game (although she totally should), after power levels have defined everything it feels refreshing to have someone so out of her depth join the team, she reminds me of Bulma’s character in the early dragon ball. Like Boomer, she specializes in repairing machines and claims these skills will make her a valuable asset. Since their roles overlap so much, I was concerned that Bulma might feel redundant when she joins the team. Still, she doesn’t seem that vain, so hopefully the show can make that happen when the time comes. At least it makes me look forward to seeing what happens when these two interact.
But for now, Panzy’s presence helps deepen our understanding of the Demon Realm. On the one hand, we learn that each Majin has unique abilities, and while her abilities don’t seem very powerful, it gives Glorio a bigger shadow because it means we haven’t seen his yet. ability. We also learn that Supreme Kai/Xin’s demon race, the Grinders, have mostly abandoned the demonic realm for the outside world, which makes his presence here more anomalous than we originally thought and makes me wonder about him What is the existence of?
On top of that, we learn that Panzy is the daughter of King Cardan, the king of the third demonic world, and can help others get to know her father. Although he doesn’t initially believe Goku is the warrior they need to destroy King Goma, when Glorio and Pansy decide to vouch for him, he immediately attempts to marry Pansy to Goku, to which Goku immediately responds that he has Wife and daughter. One can only hope that King Goma maintains this energy for the rest of the series). While King Cardan doesn’t insist that Wukong be disloyal, he tests Wukong’s strength by pitting him against his best warriors. As is the show’s current standards, the fight looks pretty incredible, but I feel like I can only give it so much praise without it feeling redundant. If you liked the action of the last two episodes, it continues to do well.
That said, there was a moment where we saw Goku briefly transform into a Super Saiyan, only to immediately revert back to his base form. Assuming this isn’t a bend, I wonder if he wasn’t adapted to his child’s form well enough to successfully make the transition. I hope this is the case as it would be another great way to put limits on Wukong while also ensuring alwaysThe action could continue to rely more on physical combat than energy attacks, so hopefully that’s where they end up going.
While Goku impressed King Cardan enough to get a new ship, the whole situation also made Glorio more suspicious. Shin points out to Goku that he never told King Cardan that the two of them had been turned into children, and despite claiming to be sent by King Cardan, it seems more like Glorio approached him first rather than the other way around. Whether Glorio is secretly working for someone else or following his own agenda is hard to say, but he is hiding something.
These are concerns for the future, but in the meantime, Goku and others still can’t seem to catch a break when it comes to air travel. Once they get a new boat, they almost immediately hit the ground running because Panzy brought so much luggage. It feels a little weird that the show would pull it off after they spent so much time trying to find a new ride. This is another solid (if not particularly spectacular) outing alwaysnow that we have two new characters, I’m looking forward to spending more time getting to know them.
