Here’s a riddle for you: When is a season (or maybe it’s series? The answer is: when there is nothing to draw conclusions from in the first place! “Bad Meets Girl” is ostensibly the last episode Stunt Tourso it seems like I shouldn’t be surprised that the show is trying to show at least some finality. What makes it so weird, however, is that the show is suddenly pretending as if it even has a long-term story that pays off with some sort of conclusion, instead of simply acknowledging that this is a sequence of barely animated nonsense that we’re haphazardly strung together .
Really, my main problem with this episode is that it felt like we skipped a lot of material. Again, this feels weird considering the show has never relied on those pesky things like “coherent, linear storytelling” and “functional continuity” before. Of course, stuff happened Week after week – let’s never forget the excitement of seeing General Dante born in her adorable little outfit – but the show never felt like it was a must watch for you any Come enjoy a random episode or another. Here, however, a half-hearted attempt to build suspense about Baryu’s evil intentions against Chizuko is almost immediately thrown aside, revealing that the entire ending is going to be elaborate spa Fossa Magna bosses planned sleepover parties for every character on the show because… well, to be honest, I’m still not sure. We find out that Kokoa is Bayu’s daughter, which isn’t surprising, but it makes sense that the guy would want his little girl to get together with all her…friends, I guess?
this is indeed the place Stunt Tour Trying to make “Bad Girls Meet” feel like a grand send-off for the show, because when I say Bayou invites “everyone,” I mean everyone. Berry Blossom’s appearance was obviously appreciated, and I can see why it would be fun to have Chizuko chilling out with Chrome, the Kuma Kaijins, Mashirou, and even damn grandpa, the old gangster. However, Cocoa and Chizuko only really interact three or four times, and Chizuko’s father gets even less screen time. What makes me particularly confused is that the blue fish man who transformed not long ago suddenly appears and acts like everyone is good friends. if Stunt Tour Having been given another installment to give us more time to focus on all these random side characters who otherwise had almost no impact on the show, I could see this episode working better. I don’t know what was in the manga, so maybe just removing some of it would have made the forced nostalgia and sadness Chizuko felt on the phone with her mom at the end more worthwhile.
To be clear, I don’t think this episode was bad. This is a really good episode with a couple of good jokes and some interesting character interactions. All this chaos makes me instinctively scoff, that’s all. It feels less like the show is waving a warm goodbye to its audience and more like it’s hastily pushing us out of our seats and rushing us out the front door before we stay too long. Not the worst end of the season, I guess, but I can imagine a lot of areas where it could have been better.
