Now, let’s get back to the main focus of this episode: Markey’s gun club misfits. Seriously, Markey? What kind of world do we live in now? this What do you think children need? Evan walked into the school and suddenly gunfire rang out. He quickly ducked into the classroom and told the students to get down, and he seemed to be the only one losing his mind about it. The students looked at him like he was crazy and he was confused by their reactions until they told him it wasn’t a school shooting, it was just Markey’s gun club.
Evan raised his concerns at a faculty meeting and insisted that the club be closed. Markey argued that it was a “gun safety program” that was last closed in the “dark days of ’99” (I’ll let you do your own research on what dark days he is referring to here) and he would not allow the club to be closed. Markie isn’t necessarily doing anything. legally The error is (shockingly) School Board Approval (Um?) so the club was allowed to continue.

Students have conflicting views on the matter: They don’t care because they’re used to drills to prepare for school shootings (It’s sad but the scene doesn’t make it seem that sad which I appreciate). Evan is upset about this and says they need to do something about it. Things take a very interesting turn when Evan and some students protest the gun club. Markey got wind of it, and he and some other students protested…protested.
Things seemed about to go bad in the hallway until Principal Moretti intervened. Armed with this information, Evan had the idea to give his students a creative writing assignment with the prompt “If you could do any heinous act and get away with it, what would you do?” Now, Mr… …you know exactly what you’re doing with this. He hopes one of those stories will be enough to shut down the gun club.

His plan worked; Principal Moretti called for an end to the gun club due to an “active threat.” Evan seems to believe he’s winning the battle, but it turns out that teachers will now be required to receive firearms training, rather than students owning guns, and that training will be provided by…you guessed it, Markey.
Admittedly, considering the serious subject matter, this episode wasn’t the best in my opinion. I will say that the comedic accuracy of the gun conversations I imagined teenagers having at school made it an enjoyable watch.
