Elon Musk is talking about getting physical with Mark Zuckerberg again. Still, there’s no real battle plan, which makes it look like the owners of X/Twitter are still all bark and no bite.
In videos posted to fox news Reporter Kelly Phares reports that Musk said he’s still willing to have Meta’s CEO get his ass handed to him. The two billionaires spent much of last year teasing the possibility of a cage fight, but nothing ultimately came of it.
“I will fight Zuckerberg anywhere, anytime, under any rules,” Musk declared on Wednesday, displaying bravado that was shockingly wrong.
Zuckerberg responded to the news on Threads by simply saying: “Are we really going to do this again?”
Mark Zuckerberg tells Elon Musk to ‘get serious’ or cage fight is over

While Musk only began preparations for the proposed billionaire cage match last July, Zuckerberg has been practicing mixed martial arts (MMA) publicly for years. He has won multiple medals in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ) championships, and his passion for combat sports was even listed as a risk to Meta’s business in the annual report Meta filed in February.
However, despite Musk’s relative lack of training, he has previously expressed belief that he could beat Zach purely because he is heavier, claiming he weighs more. “At least 300 pounds” (136 kg). Last May, Zuckerberg won a medal in the featherweight division of the Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Championships, where the weight limit is 154.5 pounds (70 kilograms).
But again, Zuckerberg wins medal at Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Championships. The next month after the incident, Musk said he “almost never” exercises “except to pick up my kids and throw them in the air.”
To be fair, Musk isn’t the only regular guy who harbors a bizarre, unfounded belief that he can beat a dedicated athlete in his chosen sport. That didn’t make it any less awkward.

A brief history of Elon Musk’s cage match with billionaire Mark Zuckerberg
Musk’s bold claim that he’s ready for “anywhere, any time, any rules” is clearly an exaggeration. He would probably not agree to the use of a pistol at dawn. Even so, his past behavior casts serious doubt on whether Musk is truly willing to confront Zack.
The SpaceX CEO was the first to raise the possibility of getting into a fight, posting on X last June that he “Prepare for a cage match if [Zuckerberg] yes. While many thought it was a joke, Zuckerberg took to Instagram Story to respond to the post, taking a screenshot of the post and telling Musk to “send me your location.”
“Vegas Octagon,” Musk wrote on the X. “I have a great move I call the ‘walrus,’ where I just lay on my opponent and do nothing.” “
The non-serious answer seemed to indicate that Musk never really intended to fight Zuckerberg. Indeed, the whole thing could have ended easily. However, Musk later announced in early August that his battle with Zuckerberg would be broadcast live on X for charity.
This is obviously good news for Zuckerberg, who was quick to make it clear that any arrangements for a Musk-Zack fight are far from certain. The Facebook co-founder revealed that in addition to proposing a “more reliable platform that can actually raise money for charity,” he also suggested a date of August 26, when Musk first proposed the fight in June . Unfortunately, more than a month later, Musk still hasn’t confirmed a date.
“I’m not holding my breath,” Zuckerberg wrote on Threads.
Musk responded in a post on X that the race date is “constantly changing” because he may need surgery first. However, Zuckerberg said Musk requested a private practice session before committing to a public race, suggesting it wasn’t a health issue that kept him from competing. Practice sessions before a fight are not standard practice in MMA.
Musk confirmed that he had requested a practice session by August 26 and even announced his intention to appear at Zuckerberg’s home in Palo Alto on August 14 to compete. Zuckerberg was not in the city at the time.
“I asked for a real date,” Zuckerberg wrote. “[President of Ultimate Fighting Championship] Dana White proposed it as a legitimate charity contest. Elon didn’t confirm a date, then said he needed surgery, and now asked for a practice round in my backyard. If Elon is serious about a real date and official event, he knows how to contact me. Otherwise, it’s time to move on. I’m going to focus on competing against people who take this sport seriously.
Musk responded that Zuckerberg was “chicken,” This seems rather hypocritical for a man who clearly went to great lengths to avoid the fight he proposed. Until we actually see these two actually face off, all this talk of billionaire squabbling seems like just empty talk designed to make Musk’s chest swell.
