EcoFlow has just launched four new battery products designed to power everything from home appliances to Qi2-compatible phones to RVs during a power outage.
From most powerful to least powerful, there are second-generation power kits to power your off-grid RV living fantasies, the mid-range Delta 3 and compact River 3 solar generators, and the Rapid Qi2 wireless power bank for your phone, too Can charge your laptop with a pinch.
Power Kit v2 is the follow-up to the original all-in-one power management system I reviewed 18 months ago. This kit is designed to power everything from an off-grid cabin to a small camper without having to cobble together all the necessary components and wiring yourself. EcoFlow says the new 5kVA 48V power kit has been improved for RVs, is quieter (a recurring complaint about the original), and offers more storage capacity. If your rig is big enough to store nine bulky 5kWh LFP batteries, the expanded 45kWh battery limit will be enough to keep your setup around for a week or more.
The power hub at the heart of the system can output up to 4000W of power (8000W surge), enough to power multiple devices simultaneously, including high-pressure espresso machines, induction cooktops, and air conditioners. It also supports multiple inputs that can be combined to quickly charge these batteries from sources such as the vehicle’s main (or auxiliary) alternator, shore power and solar power.
EcoFlow’s improved power kit can now monitor and provide status of water tanks and temperature sensors when configured with the new Power Link Information Center. This change, along with others such as a larger 10-inch dedicated console display and support for more fused AC and DC circuit branches, will make EcoFlow’s plug-and-play power kits a more powerful system, suitable for even the largest land yacht.
The Delta 3 Series is a mid-sized solar generator with plenty of ports, including a pair of 140W USB-C outputs. The base model has 1kWh of storage capacity and can produce up to 1800W of output while accepting up to 500W of solar input. The Delta 3 Plus model is expandable to 5kWh with stackable battery add-ons and supports 1,000W solar input. The Delta 3 Series operates an extremely quiet 30dB when producing 600W or less.
EcoFlow says the Delta 3 series can power an average refrigerator for “at least five hours” in the event of a power outage. When used as a UPS for a PC or NAS, it also has a 10 millisecond switching function and will receive HID signals to save data before shutting down.
The River 3 Series is a small solar generator that comes in two models. The basic River 3 has a fixed capacity of 245Wh and supports 110W solar input, while the more interesting River 3 Plus has an expandable capacity, starting at 286Wh and supporting up to 220W solar charging. The base model only produces 300W of power, while the Plus model doubles that to 600W, enough to power devices like space heaters and drip coffee makers. The Plus model’s capacity can be expanded to 858Wh by adding two stackable batteries that can be quickly connected via pogo pins. The River 3 device also has a 140W USB-C port that can be used as a UPS for your PC.
Last but not least, EcoFlow expands into power banks for the first time with the launch of the Rapid Series 15W Qi2 magnetic charger with stand. They also come with a built-in USB-C PD 3.0 cable that can charge laptops up to 65W. It comes in 5,000mAh or 10,000mAh models and is available in silver, light blue or black.
Unfortunately, the most important pricing information won’t be available until each product’s official release date, and the schedule for North America is as follows:
EcoFlow said it expects a European launch later in the fourth quarter.
