After an intense first season, Orphan Black: Echoes has concluded with an exciting introduction to the series family.
From a beloved cult classic, the odds are high with this incredible series.
Orphan Black: Echoes delivers a more direct and clear story than its parent show.
While fans remain reluctant to join, those who have joined don’t regret their decision.
We meet very well-established characters and fans are reintroduced to their favorite characters from the franchise.
Most importantly, viewers get an experience they will never forget about what it means to be human.
Orphan Black: Echoes delivers a wild ride of science fiction and ensures that Season 1 ends with a bang—a real bang.
In terms of storytelling, Orphan Black: Echoes has a clearer plot than the Father Series
The storyline of Orphan Black: Echoes is very different from the storyline of Orphan Black .
In the original series’ first season, the focus was on figuring out why the clones existed and keeping Kira safe.
While some of those themes are still present, Orphan Black: Echoes has a more proactive pace.
Rather than jumping from clone to clone to give each clone its own arc, the series ensures that everyone’s plots are tied together as closely as possible.
In that sense, I think AMC’s Orphan Black: Echoes is a better drama.
The stakes are more obvious, and any relevant plot points are clearly defined and easy to follow.
While the show lacks camp, its unique focus on the heart sets much of the groundwork for “Orphan Black: Echoes.”
However, if the show were to get another season, the storylines would likely go towards clone-like awesomeness.
By introducing multiple clones of different people, Orphan Black: Echoes organically expanded its world and pushed the story in a more important direction.
When it comes to season two, bigger is better.
Kira won’t be able to escape her connection to the clones as long as the franchise exists
If there is a second season, it could mean a world of trouble for Kira. Who knew Lorna could suck so hard?
To be fair, there’s always the possibility that someone might find out about the printing, so blackmail is inevitable.
Still, this sucks for Lucas, but it might mean he’ll stay away from the Quakers.
Orphan Black: Echoes may try to bring back the extreme religious fanaticism that Orphan Black likes to incorporate.
With Eleanor (Rhea Kierstedt) and Lucas by her side, Kira might turn herself in, but that won’t solve her problems.
Daros is just the tip of the iceberg. Once the government discovers the printing press, the entire world will be plunged into a genetic catastrophe.
So, anyway, Kira’s ordinary life is long gone, and she might even be on the run. Like mother, like daughter.
Still, she might want to stay because Daros scans her.
That’s a compliment when you consider what Paul D’Aros has planned.
Paul Daros tries to serve his opponents, but everything he does is annoying
We knew Paul was a madman from his first appearance, but I was surprised at how ruthless he was.
He’s not the most complex villain. If anything, he’s an amalgamation of multiple villain personas.
The soft-spoken billionaire villain who does things for the greater good is done. Have you heard of Lex Luther?
So, if I’m going to accuse Orphan Black: Echoes of anything, it’s having a bland villain.
He never inspired a tenth of the intimidation of Rachel Duncan in Orphan Black .
However, I have to tell the writers one thing. Paul’s plan is actually refreshing and exciting.
He built an orphanage for super geniuses. While that sounds good on paper, Paul seems to have lost focus all season.
Did he really think his printouts wouldn’t be curious about their origins? As long as there’s one rebellious clone, there will be more clones.
Paul dug his own grave by creating twelve young disciples who might betray him.
But ultimately, Paul doesn’t have to worry about clones. He didn’t even need to care about Kira.
No, if Orphan Black Echoes gets another season, Daros will need to be careful to protect Lucy.
Here’s hoping Orphan Black: Echoes doesn’t lose its appeal like Lucy and Daros
I don’t know about you, but when Paul shot Jules in the head at close range, I jumped, my eyes widened, and my mouth opened.
This absolutely shocked me. I was just as stunned as Lucy and had the same look on my face.
This is truly an unexpected and wonderful plot. Anything that evokes emotion in your audience is always a good idea.
After watching Jules’ (Amanda Fix) journey, her death feels like the loss of a friend.
If Lucy had felt the rage this scene stirred in me, Paul would be dead.
We’re about to see Krysten Ritter return to her Jessica Jones days. With Jack and Charlie gone, Lucy has nothing to lose.
While Kira may have created the printing press, Paul was responsible for every bad thing that happened.
If she could escape Daros’ compound, she would likely become one of Rambo’s. God knows how Kira and Eleanor will react to Jules’ news.
What’s more, there’s no getting away from the lost footage of Jules’ clone. What is a wig?
It looks like Orphan Black: Echoes could use many of the wigs used in Orphan Black . If the series returns, I hope they get better. That wig is rough.
All in all, Orphan Black: Echoes Season 1 was a blast.
Sure, there were lulls in an episode or two, but overall, the show was phenomenal.
Hopefully “Printout Posse” minus one can continue their exciting story and push it to greater heights.
Regardless, I’m always excited to experience the great storyline of Orphan Black: Echoes .
Were you as shocked as I was when Daros shot Jules?
If renewed, in what direction will the show develop?
