Yield Guild Games (YGG) has launched its own publishing division called YGG Play, which develops and distributes games directly under its own brand.
The first release under the new plan is LOL Land, a browser-based board game that went live on the abstract chain this week, pre-registered over 100,000 users before launch. The game combines the rewards of tokens and has the role of the chunky penguin community.
The transformation of strategy is the volatility in the blockchain gaming field for years, and many projects are working to retain long-term users. YGG’s new approach focuses on targeting existing crypto users, rather than trying to attract a wider audience of games.

What is YGG game?
YGG Play is the new publishing division for Earnings Guild games, but unlike YGG’s previous model, which centers on asset delegation and game investment, which focuses on the production and distribution of games in-house.
According to YGG, the goal is to design games that reflect the behavior and interests of people who are already active in cryptocurrencies, NFT transactions and blockchain-based platforms.
Co-founder Gabby Dizon said the move reflects the lessons learned since YGG was founded in 2020. The company believes its experience in traditional and blockchain gaming has already provided a more targeted strategy with a focus on simpler, shorter games.

What games are there on the platform?
The first title launched on YGG Play is LOL Land, a web-based board game with four theme maps: Ygg City, Beach Day, Carnival and Ice World Wonderland. In the game, players can choose between free modes that allow for unlimited volumes or advanced modes that include token rewards. Points earned in Advanced Mode are associated with a $10 million YGG token and can be used in the wider YGG ecosystem.
YGG has not announced other titles under the YGG Play tag, but it suggests that future projects will continue to prioritize encrypted local users over traditional game audiences. The company isn’t about competing with big game studios, but is trying to provide a lightweight, blockchain-based gaming, but active user base to the niche.
Deesan noted that despite the challenging development of games with emerging technologies, YGG sees the field’s continued potential. Future versions released from YGG Play are expected to build on LOL Land’s courses and further explore how blockchain mechanics can be integrated into simple, easy-to-access game formats.
