EA Sports FC 25 Ultimate Team will implement a duplicate storage feature for untradeable multiple players extracted from packs, which can then be used in the SBC.
This long-awaited feature is one of a handful of quality-of-life updates EA is rolling out with EA Sports FC 25 Ultimate Team in an effort to alleviate common frustrations experienced by the community during their day-to-day gameplay.
“I’ve been using the product for 12 years, so I’ve experienced the rise of Ultimate Team and the overall voice of our community,” Ultimate Team game design director Richard Walz said on EA Sports FC’s VG247 25 preview event. “Honestly, it feels great to be able to receive more community requests and further improve the quality of life. It won’t be the back of the box, but being able to address these issues will make a big difference in the lives of our players.
Just like you can send players to your trade pile, in FC 25 you will be able to send duplicate untradeables to the SBC stockpile. Then, when you start a squad building challenge, this SBC store will have its own tab so you can run duplicates first.
However, EA Sports FC 25 will also be available with a paid premium season pass for the first time.
Other changes to Ultimate Team in FC 25 include less stringent evolution entry requirements, so players can actually evolve their favorite players more frequently, rather than focusing on isolated meta items.
Friendly matches will now be independent of the opponent matchmaking system. The aim is to bring the friendly match closer to the casual space it should occupy. In FC 24 and earlier, friendly matches were generally more competitive than versus matches because good rewards were guaranteed, but there was a hard limit on the number of games that could be played in a day.

Speaking of Rivals matchmaking, in FC 25 you can also downgrade from the Rivals division – hopefully stopping players from getting stuck in a division above their level.
Finally, weekly rewards have been revamped and will now be unlocked via a points-based system, worth three points for a win and one point for a draw. The rewards for completing matches at higher levels will obviously be much better as well.
EA says these changes are the start of a more proactive approach to delivering community feedback more quickly.
“We now have a funded department that actively focuses on and addresses our core community complaints more often than ever before,” Walz explained. “So as a group of people who are committed to making this game, we Being able to listen to the community and respond more quickly is a very important milestone.”
“Given all the requests from the community, we didn’t want to wait between product release years to address more issues as fan expectations have grown over the years,” said Ultimate Team producer Karthik Venkateshan. “That’s exactly why we set up this department. Reason, like, ‘How do we achieve these changes faster?’ That’s definitely the goal.
