new era thundercats Comics continue to bring excitement to fans old and new! In celebration of the outstanding support from our readers and fan base, dynamite are excited to announce the debut of their new characters, vertexin September ThunderCats #8!
The series was so popular that the first issue alone sold a record-breaking 170,000 copies. In the end, the print run exceeded 200,000 copies, setting a record-breaking number in the 20 years since “Dynamite” was published. Now we stand before issue six, opening up new arcs and new points of entry for fans thundercats fanaticism.
Throughout the run, the author Declan Shalvey and artist Drew Mossleaving fans hungry for more new incarnations of their favorite characters. Chapter 2 introduces a brand new ‘cat With members of Calica, then Snarf made his debut in the next issue. Each issue adds a new layer to the evolving storyline, and issue 8 brings another big reveal!
Explosive status:
ThunderCats #8 will be released on September 25th and will introduce fans to the mysterious figure known as “Apex”. Designed by series writer (and artist) Declan Shalvey, fans may recognize certain visual elements of the character. But his true identity can only be discovered on page 8 and beyond.

Taking on the challenge of reintroducing the ThunderCats in this new series was a huge undertaking, and I couldn’t be happier with what Drew Moss and I have done with this book.
With much of the new status quo established in the Omen arc, we’re now in the process of building our own ThunderCats lore, and with it comes the mysterious Apex. This character will bring a whole new set of questions for the ThunderCats, especially once we learn who they really are. I’m really excited to be able to design this character based on the design Drew previously established.
