Prepose and Casalos combined their experience over thirty years to create this Captain Plant comic. They kick off the story with a vibrant and faithful modernization of the franchise, in the same vein as Pepose’s hits space ghost series.

Pepose is taking an ambitious approach by adapting the beloved ’90s cartoon into a comic series of unprecedented scale and tone. The series is designed to resonate with long-time fans who grew up with the show, as well as younger readers, including the next generation of fans, who are now more focused on real-world issues that reflect the challenges faced by Planeteers. Peebles shared his excitement about balancing the spotlight on all the major characters, giving each character his own emotional arc, showcasing Captain Planet’s powers, and reintroducing some of the show’s iconic villains.
The first issue is scheduled to be released the same week as Earth Day, April 23! Like all of the publisher’s issues, the comic will be printed on 70% recycled paper.
For this landmark revival of the iconic series, Dynamite has brought together a diverse team of talented artists to create stunning covers for the series. The first issue will feature Superstar variations Mark Spearscelebrate his monster series, side by side Christian Ward and Ben Oliver. In addition, the first six issues will include a special set of connecting covers, presented by Li Zai and Zhong Qiong.
