Dragon Balls shine! After the early access release window ended, the number of concurrent players on Steam has exceeded 100,000. As of this writing, it’s at the top of the store’s best-seller list.
By the way, as noted in our review, the game is so good that it reached this remarkable milestone overnight. Before that, it was hovering between 800,000 and 90,000, purely for those who spent some money early to play the game. It’s also worth noting that this number doesn’t take into account PlayStation and Xbox players.

The surge in player numbers sparked a new wave of reactions and immense joy over the content offering. Some of them originate from the single-player game, which contains several interesting moments that players discover for the first time. An early example of this (of course, we don’t want to spoil anything) comes from Goku’s battle with Vegeta in his monkey form, where the latter manipulates the player. As it turns out, it’s so tricky that Bandai Namco stepped in and suggested lowering the difficulty. If you’re as stubborn as me, it’s worth noting that spamming Kamehameha from a distance is a great technique for taking him out.
Others are diving into multiplayer, which is just as exciting. A lot of the fun I see online comes from tense battles between players, including some who prefer to win using the game’s weaker characters. Take Marcus for example, here we see him having a lot of fun with Serge Jr.
Overall, no matter what part of the game people enjoy, it’s great to see so many people joining in and having a great time. Are you one of these players? Let us know below and what is your favorite part of the game!
