The partnership will kick off at San Diego Comic-Con, where Star Wars showrunner and executive producer Alex Kurtzman will be in attendance franchise, and Russell T Davies, showrunner and executive producer of Doctor Who: Whoniverse, Come together for an exclusive creator-to-creator conversation about the art of storytelling in an alternative universe, and celebrate the power of friendship. SDCC Star Friendship Panel: Star Wars x Doctor Who will be held on Saturday, July 27th from 5:30-6:30pm in Room 6Aand will be hosted by Keisha Hatchett, author of TV line. Creators Talk participants will each receive a special Doctor Who x Star Trek poster designed by artist Dusty Abell.
Under the banner ‘Friendship is Universal’, Star Wars and Doctor Who will host special celebratory gallery experiences on 226 and 230 5th Avenue in San Diego’s Gaslamp Quarter. The gallery experience will feature original costumes and props from the storied histories of both universes, highlighting themes of friendship and shared values between the two universes. There will also be photo opportunities for fans as well as a special friendship bracelet giveaway. “Friendship Everywhere” launches from Thursday, July 25 to Saturday, July 27 from 11:00 am to 8:00 pm, and Sunday, July 28 from 11:00 am to 5:00 pm. Admission is free. “Friendship Is Universal” is not an official SDCC activation, so a badge is not required to enter.
