Two years ago, Disney announced a new Marvel attraction at California Adventure’s Avengers Campus featuring King Thanos as the villain. Earlier this week at D23, Disney shared the vehicles guests will be traveling in across the multiverse. It will be called Avengers: Infinity Defense.
The story behind the attraction is that Tony Stark has developed new portal technology that can transport passengers to different worlds. But it also attracted the attention of King Thanos, a version of the Mad Titan who won Infinity War in an alternate reality. Since The Avengers takes place in the Marvel Universe, Thanos has never let half the universe disappear, so the heroes don’t know what he’s going to bring. Unfortunately for them, King Thanos is about to rectify that.

Leading up to the final showdown with the Mad Titan, Avengers: Infinity Defense will bring Marvel heroes together to fend off King Thanos’ attack on Asgard, Wakanda and other familiar Marvel locations.
But that’s not the only Marvel theme park news at D23. The Iron Man-themed attraction “Stark Flying Laboratory” will become the fourth attraction in the Avengers Park. This is a robotic arm ride that allows guests to simulate flying like Iron Man. Robert Downey Jr. will reprise his role as Tony Stark in the attraction. Remember, Avengers Campus is from the Marvel Universe timeline, and Stark never died, so there’s no need for a resurrection here.

There is currently no timetable for the attractions to open, but construction on Avengers: Infinity Defense is underway.
