The creators of XPUNKS have officially unveiled the first official trailer for their upcoming apocalyptic escape shooter Eden: Discovery.
In addition to the trailer, the team also announced the game’s integration with the Solana blockchain and a partnership with Solana Labs’ GameShift. These measures are designed to enhance the game’s in-game economy, tournament system, and accessibility to a wide range of players.
Eden: Discovery will provide blockchain-integrated games and traditional game options to meet the different preferences of the gaming community. The announcement also revealed plans to release an alpha version at the end of Season 1, allowing for early access to core game features.
What is Eden: Discovery?
Eden: Discovery is a multiplayer extraction shooter set in a post-apocalyptic world where resources are scarce and survival depends on strategy and skill. Matches are designed to be short and intense, with players collecting valuable resources while traversing hostile environments and trying to escape alive.
The game also introduces a competitive tournament mode, where players can host or participate in tournaments with real-money stakes, powered by Solana’s cryptocurrency ($SOL). These tournaments cater to both casual and competitive players, offering flexible formats such as one-on-one duels or larger multiplayer matches.
Future updates are expected to expand the game’s functionality through user-generated content tools, allowing players to create and share custom maps and game modes. This reflects a focus on community-driven content and long-term engagement.
Why choose Solana?
The decision to build on the Solana blockchain is rooted in its ability to handle high transaction volumes with low fees and fast processing speeds. For Eden: Discovery, this ensures that in-game transactions such as tournament entries and rewards can be processed efficiently without disrupting gameplay.
“Solana’s powerful smart contracts open up new ways for us to combine high-intensity combat with meaningful ownership and player-driven tournaments,” said Kaj Leroy, founder of Eden: Discovery. “Our partnership with Solana Labs’ GameShift reinforces our mission to push the boundaries of what’s possible.”
The partnership with GameShift, a program of Solana Labs, aims to provide tools that simplify the onboarding process for players who may not be familiar with blockchain technology, ensuring that it is accessible to both traditional gamers and those exploring web3 for the first time.
To cater to a diverse gaming audience, Eden: Discovery will be available in two different versions: a traditional Steam version without blockchain functionality and a standalone blockchain-integrated client. A public alpha version, scheduled for release at the end of Season 1, will give players early access to the game’s extraction mode and other features.
