Diamond Comic Distributors plans to consolidate warehouse operations, phase out regional delivery points and consolidate shipping companies.
The program will increase overall efficiency and better serve its customers and partners.
The company will continue to operate out of its Plattsburgh, New York distribution center. Beginning November 27, operations will move to the distribution center in Olive Branch, Mississippi.
Diamond serves independent specialty retailers, including comic shops, hobby shops and toy stores.
In addition, Diamond will reduce the number of regional drop-off points for deliveries. Locations that will no longer be used include Baltimore, Boston, Chicago and all Canadian centres.
All U.S. customers who previously picked up orders from Boston, Baltimore and Chicago delivery points will now switch to the standard flat rate shipping rate of 3%.
All shipments will be shipped via UPS, FedEx, Canpar or USPS, except for all shipments to other delivery points.
Diamond said it is committed to ensuring a smooth transition for all employees, customers and partners.
