Diablo 4 Season 5 is in full swing, but one of its best changes (a guaranteed way to get more add-on items) isn’t working properly – until the game’s latest patch.
The current season, dubbed Season of the Hell Tribe, introduces a new end-game event of the same name, where players can battle waves of enemies while choosing boons and banes between waves, altering gameplay. One of the most lucrative rewards of this event is the ability to choose a premium gear box as a reward: one that contains items guaranteed to have at least one premium affix.
We’ve released a new patch this morning to address an issue in NMD with Rune Shards not dropping and large bonus items not being guaranteed in Infernal Horde 60 Aether chests.

As part of the Diablo 4 Loot Reborn update, larger affixes were added that have one or more stats even higher than normal, making them sought after by players looking to maximize their character. Prior to Season 5, finding these rare items was purely a matter of luck, which was a godsend for minimal players. The only problem is that those “guaranteed” item sources in Season 5 don’t actually always provide players with better add-on items.
Thankfully, the third patch for the season was released on August 13th, so that sources that guaranteed larger additional items (i.e. certain reputation rewards as well as larger gear chests) will now drop powerful items as expected. thing. The patch also addresses a few other issues, such as one-handed maces purchased from the Curiosity Vendor always having legendary quality, rune shards not dropping in Nightmare Dungeons as expected, and being found outside of Level 4 Hell’s Compass. question.

Diablo 4 Season 5 will be shorter than usual to make way for the game’s first expansion, Hateship. The expansion will introduce a new class, the Soul Children, as well as a new zone and end-game event. Diablo 4: Hateship and Season 6 will begin on October 8th.
